In the lead up to the summer months begins I have seen lots of articles and posts about becoming beach body/summer ready which is just ridiculous because if you have a body and are on a beach then you have a beach body. I have written a few other posts similar to this one but I thought that since we are in the lead up to summer I would update it so that you can follow some inspirational, confident people and see some positivity on your feed πŸ™‚

  • Ryley Isaac- https://www.instagram.com/ryleyisaac/: Ryley was on Season 3 of Glow Up and did some absolutely amazing make-up looks which emphasised her birth-mark which was super cool!
  • Shira Rose- https://www.instagram.com/theshirarose/: Shira is an Eating disorder therapist and body positive blogger who works to dismantle the stigma around body size and ensure that everyone has equal access to healthcare.
  • Laetdecar- https://www.instagram.com/laetdecaru/: Laeti is actually someone that I found on TikTok where she does Big Sister style videos about body image and raising awareness of eating disorders. She also runs the Sunflower Merch site which is so lovely πŸ™‚

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 9 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 10 aims πŸ™‚ Chapter 9 has been really focused on really carrying on my new workout routine, seeing friends in a Covid friendly way and GYSTING and organising my space πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.

This month restrictions in the UK have started to lift with non-essential shops re-opening and also restaurants re-opening outside which has meant that I have been able to meet up with a few friends in a Covid safe way which has been lovely and have also been able to carry on with some of the creative ways I have been interacting with friends and family who I can’t see in person for example Skypes, book clubs with one of my friends, and doing Yoga classes and then chatting about them with my brother πŸ™‚ Next month I will be meeting up with some more friends, cooking and carrying on with workouts xx

  • Cook something new once a week- I have definitely managed to do this and more which has been so great because we have still been getting the Hello Fresh meals which are so tasty and relatively easy recipes πŸ™‚ My first recipe was Sweet Chilli Chicken which was delish ❀ I then made Sausage Skewers with potato wedges (the potato wedges were so good) and Halloumi and vegetable pasta which was SOOO AMAZING!! I then made a Chilli and a Roasted butternut Squash curry which was so amazing and I think my favourite curry I’ve made so far πŸ™‚ The next week I made Halloumi tacos (can you tell I love Halloumi :P), Korma curry and Chipotle Spiced Chicken which was pretty spicy but still tasty πŸ™‚ Finally I made Chicken Thigh and Chorizo pasta, Chicken chow mein and Asian style sticky pork which was so good and the first time I have actually cooked pork πŸ™‚
  • Continue sorting out a different part of my bedroom every week and start gathering stuff for the charity shop and Depop: This month I have managed to have quite a few sort outs of my bedroom- I had a sort out of my important documents folder, organised my camera equipment, organised the bottom of my big wardrobe and also had an organise of my other wardrobe πŸ™‚ My final organisation was to organise my skincare drawer which I have been meaning to do for ages! I have a little pile of stuff that I am either going to take to the charity shop or am going to sell on Depop including clothes, make-up bags and a few other bits πŸ™‚
  • Go shopping at some point this month- I have actually been shopping quite a few times this month which has been so so nice πŸ™‚ My first shopping trip out was to Croydon shopping centre and then I have also been to Camden, Bromley and Brighton as well πŸ™‚ I actually posted a haul from my first two shopping trips out and also a book haul because I have been ordering and buying so many books recently!
  • See some of my friends in person and also have a skype session :)- I have managed to see quite a few of my friends this month which has been so so lovely πŸ™‚ I saw my friend Ellie at the start of the month for a drink in her garden which was so nice πŸ™‚ I then have also managed to see my friend Dorothy and we went out for lunch at Borough Market which was amazing πŸ™‚ I then met up with my friend Hannah for a photoshoot and finally have met up with my friends Birunda and Barghi throughout the month πŸ™‚ I went to Camden, box park and Richmond park with Barghi and have met up with Birunda at my house in the garden πŸ™‚ I also managed to Skype Hannah and Anna in the middle of the month as well πŸ™‚

  • Continue working on my training knowledge and do a work webinar every week :)- I have been keeping up with my training and work videos online and Maya actually went back to puppy class with month which is really fun πŸ™‚ Her retrieve is coming on so well and I’m still keeping on top of her other tricks as well πŸ™‚ This month for webinars I have been working through the Victoria Stillwell academy free online courses- the first course I did was about being a good pet neighbour which was in three different parts and then I am currently half-way through the second online course on her website which is about building your dogs confidence πŸ™‚
  • Reach 1600 followers on my blog and do at least one photoshoot :)- I am absolutely blown away by the fact that I have actually managed to reach 1600 followers on this blog thank you so much for supporting me and following along with my content ❀ I also did actually manage to do a photoshoot with my friend Hannah in my garden and also at my local woods which was Taylor Swift themed which was pretty fun πŸ™‚

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated: Chapter 8 recap and Chapter 9 aims :)

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated: Chapter 8 recap and Chapter 9 aims :)

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 8 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 9 aims πŸ™‚ Chapter 8 has been really focused on really settling into my new workout routine, celebrating a few special occasions and GYSTING and organising my space πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: Believe you can and you’re halfway there πŸ™‚

England is in the midst of its third nationwide lockdown which is slowly starting to lift at the start of the next month which is very very exciting!! I have made some plans to meet up (within the Covid rules ofc) with some friends next month which is so exciting and will also hopefully be carrying on with some of the creative ways I have been interacting with friends and family who I can’t see in person for example Skypes, book clubs with one of my friends, and doing Yoga classes and then chatting about them with my brother πŸ™‚

  • Cook something new once a week :)- I have been really really enjoying cooking this month and have actually cooked twice a week most weeks πŸ™‚ We have been having a Hello Fresh box delivered every week for the past month as we had a discount code which allowed us to get a discount on our first 4 boxes πŸ™‚ I have made Sweet and sour chicken, different kinds of wraps, a chicken curry, hoisin chicken with rice, speedy chicken noodles, a ricotta pasta and a bacon pasta, a pad thai and finally a chicken curry on naan bread type dish πŸ™‚
  • Sort out a different part of my room every week πŸ™‚ – The first part of my bedroom that I organised was my electronics drawer that was just a muddle of cords and old electronics so that is now looking a lot more organised πŸ™‚ I then organised my notebook drawer which was already pretty organised to be honest but I had a look through to see what notebooks I actually have because I can be a bit of a notebook fiend who hoards notebooks but never actually uses them! (please tell me someone can relate to this- they’re just so pretty and I don’t want to ruin them!) I then tackled my PJ drawer which was an absolute mess that wouldn’t shut so that is now looking a lot more organised πŸ™‚ Finally I organised my two hair drawers which were a complete disaster! My mum is a hairdresser who also works in a beauty department so I am often getting given different products to try which is lovely but also means that my beauty drawers are very often full and messy!
  • Celebrate Barghavi and Billys birthday and also Mothers day :)- The first birthday for me to celebrate in March was my friend Barghavi’s birthday so we organised for her to come over and spend the day with my Aunts dog Luna who we had looked after while Barghavi was isolating here in November πŸ™‚ I also baked some Biscoff muffins which are her favourite and put up some balloons and banners as well and it was a really nice chill day πŸ™‚ My brother Billys birthday was actually the same day as Mothers day so we organised for my two brothers to come round for a Linner (lunch/dinner) in the garden which was so so lovely πŸ™‚
  • Run twice a week and do Yoga at least 4 times a week :)- I have actually managed to stick to this which I am so proud of myself for πŸ™‚ I have been going on a bit of a health journey recently and trying to find a good balance of food and exercise etc and have been really enjoying pushing myself πŸ™‚
  • Continue working on my training knowledge, teach Maya a new trick and do a work webinar every week :)- I have been working with Maya three times a week just doing some obedience training which I have really really enjoyed and during this time I have managed to teach Maya a new trick- bow πŸ™‚ We are still working on all of the basics and the few newer tricks we have been learning such as hold, beg, weave and crawl πŸ™‚ I have also been watching and reading lots of training stuff which has been really informative and interesting πŸ™‚
  • Reach 1575 followers on my blog and do a photoshoot :)- During Barghavis birthday weekend she popped round on the Saturday which was so so nice and we actually did a photoshoot in my local woods which was so much fun especially since I had recently purchased some Taylor Swift inspired clothing based around her Folklore and Evermore albums πŸ™‚ I have also reached 1575 followers on my blog which is just absolutely AMAZING and I’m so grateful to every single person who follows me on here ❀ ❀

I have had such a lot of fun these last few months working through my goals and sorting my life out and am so ready to continue on this trajectory and get more goals done next month πŸ™‚

  • Cook something new once a week πŸ™‚
  • Continue sorting out a different part of my room every week and start gathering my stuff together for Charity shops and Depop πŸ™‚
  • Go shopping at some point in the month πŸ™‚
  • See some of my friends in person and have a skype session πŸ™‚
  • Continue working out semi regularly and complete the Spring Yoga challenge on the Bad Yogi Studio πŸ™‚
  • Continue working on my training knowledge, and do a work webinar every week πŸ™‚

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated: Chapter 7 recap and Chapter 8 aims :)

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 7 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 8 aims πŸ™‚ Chapter 7 has been really focused on finding new routines that incorporate my New Years Resolutions and spending time with friends and family πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: Act as if what you do makes a difference- it does! πŸ™‚

England is in the midst of its third nationwide lockdown so I have had to come up with creative ways to interact with friends and family who I can’t see in person for example Skypes, organising a book club with one of my friends, sending cards and meeting up for walks and doing Yoga classes and then chatting about them with my brother πŸ™‚

  • Cook something new :)- I have actually cooked 4 different things this month as my Mum and I have been trying to cook more from scratch so have both been cooking quite a bit πŸ™‚ The first thing I made was a Chicken, leek and Tarragon Gnocchi which was absolutely delish! I then made a Korma which was still tasty but needed slightly more flavour so am going to try and make it again with a few more spices added in at some point πŸ™‚ I then made a Chicken Fajita fried rice which was delish!! Finally I made a tomato, spinach and feta egg scramble from a cookbook my brother bought me which was really nice πŸ™‚
  • Sort out 2 parts of my room :)- I have been really trying to be more minimalistic this year and working on not buying unnecessary things and a part of this has been slowly but surely organising my stuff πŸ™‚ This month I organised my workout drawer because I have been running and doing Yoga regularly this month so have been using this drawer quite a bit πŸ™‚ I have also had a sort-out of my plants and moved them around so that they are not so squished together on my windowsill and also got my mums friend who is a gardener to re-pot a few of them πŸ™‚ Finally I got around to putting together a Night Sky Projection kit that I bought from WHSmith before Christmas but hadn’t got around to putting it together πŸ™‚
  • Skype with Anna and Hannah :)- I actually Skyped Anna and Hannah on the 15th of February for Galentines day πŸ™‚ I had sent some galentines cards to a few of my friends and then did a galentines day with my friend Barghi where we went for a walk in the park and then a skype session with Anna and Hannah on the 15th which was so nice ❀ it was so nice to chat to them both and am hoping that we will get together for another Skype session soon πŸ™‚ xx
  • Celebrate Mayas birthday- Mayas birthday is the 2nd of February so I bought her lots of new toys, took her out for a nice walk, bought her a woofin with a candle and a little birthday bandana πŸ™‚ Barghavi also came round for a walk with Maya as well which was really nice πŸ™‚ I can’t believe she is now 2!
  • Run twice a week and complete the 30 day yoga challenge :)- On the 6th of January I started a 30 day yoga challenge with my brother Jamie and so during February we finished off the last few days while was really fun and has ignited a love of Yoga πŸ™‚ I have continued to do Yoga around 5ish days a week since completing the challenge which has been really fun πŸ™‚ I have also been running twice a week as well πŸ™‚
  • Continue working on my training knowledge and do a work webinar- I have trained with Maya three times a week this month as well which is always really fun and have also completed two work based webinars, watched three work based videos a week and have been watching training videos as well πŸ™‚
  • Reach 1550 followers on my blog and do a photoshoot :)- I amazingly did manage to reach 1550 followers on my blog this month which is just AMAZING so thank you so much and have also done a few little photoshoots with my phone but definitely need to get my camera back out for some proper photoshoots next month πŸ™‚

I have had such a lot of fun these last few months working through my goals and sorting my life out and am so ready to continue on this trajectory and get more goals done next month πŸ™‚

  • Cook something new once a week πŸ™‚
  • Sort out a different part of my room every week πŸ™‚
  • Celebrate Barghavi and Billys birthday and also Mothers day πŸ™‚
  • Run twice a week and do Yoga at least four times a week πŸ™‚
  • Continue working on my training knowledge, teach Maya a new trick and do a work webinar every week πŸ™‚

Blogmas Day 12: Body Positivity around the holidays :)

Blogmas Day 12: Body Positivity around the holidays :)

As many of you will know I am a big Body Positivity advocate having struggled with Body Positivity for most of my teenage years and early twenties to differing degrees and I know that Christmastime can often be a triggering time for people who do struggle with Body Positivity as the season is very centred around food and calories, then after all the feasts comes the typical New Year pressure to ‘Get fit and lose weight’ for the New Year which is ridiculous and is a topic for another blog post but I thought in this post I would talk about some of my tips and tricks for staying body positive during this time πŸ™‚

*DISCLAIMER* These are just the things that help me have a better relationship with my body around this time that I thought I would share in case they might help someone else I’m not a trained professional and don’t want to come across as arrogant and like I know best *DISCLAIMER*

  • Do a social media purge- Before the New Year resolution train starts and Christmas food shaming begins I would highly recommend doing a social media purge and following some body positive influencers so that when you find yourself in a social media void during this season your feed will be filled with positive people and I have a few posts about some of my favourites which can be found here, here and here along with quite a few other body positivity posts πŸ™‚ Alongside following people who are going to lift you up you should also unfollow/block/silence anyone on your feed who doesn’t make you feel good when you see their photos πŸ™‚
  • Take time for yourself and don’t spend time with people that don’t make you feel good- I know this is easier said than done but if possible try and avoid the people that you know don’t make you feel good about yourself however sometimes during the holiday season you have to see these people e.g. if that person is a family member however if you can try and limit your contact with them and if you do know you are going to have to see these people then try and schedule in some self-care either before or after the event πŸ™‚
  • Spend time with friends and family that want to uplift you and make you feel good about yourself and that you know will be patient and understanding with you πŸ™‚
  • Find a balance between positive experiences surrounding food and also Christmas events that don’t centre around food at all- I think this is really important as during Christmas it can feel like everything is focused and centred around consuming food however it doesn’t have to be! Its really important to find a balance between positive experiences around food such as dinners with friends/family and also Christmas baking which can be really helpful in making you feel in control if you are the one making the food and can make it more of a fun experience if you can get friends and family involved and can dance around to music πŸ™‚ You should also find things that you can do with friends that don’t focus on food such as movie days, going Christmas shopping together, Ice Skating, playing board games, Christmas decorating/crafting with friends πŸ™‚
  • GET RID OF YOUR SCALES!!
  • About a year ago I wrote a list of 25 things that I love about myself and I would highly recommend it for everyone especially around this time πŸ™‚ Another suggestion is to create a self-love advent calendar and write yourself 24 compliments, opening one each day in the run up to Christmas which is an idea that I absolutely love πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments any tips that you have to increase body positivity around the holiday season πŸ™‚

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated: Chapter 2 recap and Chapter 3 aims :)

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated: Chapter 2 recap and Chapter 3 aims :)

On the 9th of July I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and then on the 17th of August I uploaded my Chapter 1 recap and Chapter 2 aims πŸ™‚ Since then I have been hard at work on my Chapter 2 aims and am very excited to start work on my Chapter 3 aims which I started on the 10th of September πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: Be a Pineapple- Stand Tall, Wear a crown and Be Sweet on the Inside

This month has been another crazy one! I went to Selsey (a beach where my family has a caravan) for 2 weekends which was so much fun πŸ™‚ My brother has moved out of the family home to move in with friends which means that the house has gone from 5 to 4 and then my Grandma has also moved out as well so the house is even quieter! I did a very exciting photoshoot which was a lot of fun and have seen a few friends that I haven’t seen in a long time πŸ™‚

  1. My first aim of the Second Chapter of this series was to recreate a Mac and Cheese dish that my brothers Fiancee had made for us before as she had given me the recipe πŸ™‚ My Mum asked if I could make this as a side dish for one of her dinners which I was absolutely delighted to do and I think it went down well because before I managed to grab a picture of the whole thing my Dad had already taken a portion!! A few weeks later I made it again and it went down just as well however this time I did manage to grab a picture before anyone served themselves!

2. I started off this aim rather slow and only ran once a week for the first two weeks however I then pulled it back and ran 3 times a week for the last 2 weeks so that I could catch up on myself which has been a lot of fun πŸ™‚ I can feel the improvement that running more than once a week brings as well because my pace has been picking up since I started running more πŸ™‚

3. I have managed to keep up my higher water intake on most of the days this Chapter with a few slip ups here and there where I have been out for the day and haven’t managed it but overall its definitely improving and so is my sleep schedule πŸ™‚ I have had to be up earlier on quite a few days this chapter anyway but have managed to wake up earlier every day even if I end up laying in bed on my phone for a while when I do!

4. I haven’t managed to sign up for a credit card as I have been doing some research and want to make sure I get the right one for me however I have had a sort out of some of my outgoings and seeing how I could save some money and also how much I can realistically save a month which was really interesting πŸ™‚

5. Maya started going back to her puppy classes at the end of Chapter 1 so since then hasn’t missed a class and has been really enjoying being back working on her obedience stuff πŸ™‚ I did some Agility work in the garden with Maya which was a LOT of fun and have started teaching her some new tricks πŸ™‚ During lockdown I started teaching her Bed and Hold so we have continued to work on them but have also added in Beg/Sit Pretty and also Crawl πŸ™‚ I have also been watching some training videos online as well as going through some of my Work Webinars on behaviour and training to improve my knowledge πŸ™‚

6. For Annas birthday Hannah and I ordered her some flowers and also some pancake mixes for her to make which looked absolutely amazing and we also zoomed with her while all eating a chinese take-away so that it felt like we were all at a restaurant together! We decided on Apple Crumble and Cinnamon as well as Rocky road πŸ™‚ For Ellie I decided to send her a fern plant as she really loves plants and had just moved so I thought it would be a nice addition to her house and went to see her before she starts her new job soon πŸ™‚

7. At the start of this chapter I signed up for 2 months free on Skillshare so have watched a few photography courses on there to try and improve my photography and editing skills πŸ™‚ I also had to do a photoshoot for some dresses that I had brought which was a lot of fun however I can’t post those photos yet as they were for a specific blog post which is being posted on Friday πŸ™‚

I have had such a lot of fun completing these goals and am so excited to start working on Chapter 3 πŸ™‚

  1. Hannah who some of you might know from some of my previous blog posts has challenged me to be vegetarian for 5 days this month which is going to be really interesting!! I’ll let you guys know how I get on and post some photos of some of my meals πŸ™‚
  2. I have started running 2x a week which I would love to continue and also run 3k at least once a week πŸ™‚
  3. I would like to continue the idea of getting up before 9am every day and also drinking 2l of water a day as I haven’t quite gotten the hang of it yet!
  4. Decorate my room for Halloween + buy Maya a Halloween themed toy πŸ™‚
  5. Continue improving my training knowledge and continue working on Mayas new tricks πŸ™‚
  6. Write up a country from Great Grandmas journal πŸ™‚
  7. Write a Halloween themed blog post, reach 1,300 followers on here and also continue improving my camera knowledge and put it into practice with a photoshoot πŸ™‚

I am going to do an update first thing in October as I would like to move the date back to the 1st of the month that I start each new chapter πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments how you think I did and any goals you can think of for next month πŸ™‚
