Decorating for Halloween 2021 :)

Decorating for Halloween 2021 :)

My family always makes fun of me because I am such a big Halloween fan who decorates their room with pumpkins and watches non-scary Halloween movies throughout September and October and drinks Pumpkin Spice Lattes as soon as I can πŸ™‚ Since last year I feel like I have stepped up my Halloween decorating- I have added some more Harry Potter bits, some more Nightmare Before Christmas bits, lots of candles and some more other bits as well πŸ™‚ I haven’t actually bought that much stuff for Halloween this year as I already had quite a few bits already and am trying to save some money but I did get a few little bits πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments how you decorate for Halloween πŸ™‚

Recent Favourites :)

Recent Favourites :)

Its been a while since I’ve written a favourites post but I thought I would write down some of my favourites since June!! Its taken me a while to get round to writing this post because in June I went back to work which has been super busy but without further ado lets get into it πŸ™‚

  1. Black Widow- I absolutely LOVED this movie!!! I am a big Marvel fan but also I love that Marvel are finally giving this character her own movie and paving the way for female superheroes! Natasha and Yelena were absolutely amazing and hilarious while trying to navigate their sisterhood and it was so interesting hearing about their background and their childhood.

Ghosted my therapist by Rachel Bochner- I actually found this song on TikTok a long time ago and completely forgot about it until about 2 months ago it came up on my FYP again and I LOVED IT! It got stuck in my head for weeks and I have only just got it out! Its so catchy and funny and very smart πŸ™‚

Prattle and Pages Podcast by Carrie Hope Fletcher- I am a big fan of Carrie Hope Fletcher and recently she started a Bookstagram which I obviously followed because as most of you will know I also love books! About 2 weeks ago Carrie started a podcast with the same name Prattles and Pages where she will rate the books she reads and just chat about them which is such a cool concept πŸ™‚ The first book she reviewed was Daisy Jones and the Six which I actually read recently and her analysis was spot on and I can’t wait to hear her opinions on even more books πŸ™‚

Joanie clothing- This was another thing that I have discovered through Carrie Hope Fletcher that I had to mention because I was absolutely AMAZED! I ordered 2 jumpsuits and 2 dresses and I absolutely LOVE them πŸ™‚ The jumpsuits actually fit me which is astonishing as I am only 5’3 so usually jumpsuits swamp me and the dresses were both gorgeous πŸ™‚ The sizing is absolutely on point and they feel so comfortable πŸ™‚

The last thing on my favourites list is the book The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo which I’m not going to talk that much about because I have already talked about it in my reading challenge post but I wanted to mention it here because it was such a good book and one of the best I’ve read this year πŸ™‚

There have been a few TV shows that have come out with new seasons including: Sex Education and Brooklyn 99 which I have also loved to special mention to them as well πŸ™‚ There have also been a few musical films out recently including In the Heights and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie which were both phenomenal πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments what you have been enjoying over the past few months πŸ™‚

My favourite lyrics and songs from Wicked :)

My favourite lyrics and songs from Wicked :)

On the 23rd of September I went to see Wicked with Barghavi (who you guys will have already heard a lot about) and I absolutely LOVED it πŸ™‚ I have seen Wicked before and it was actually the first show that I remember sitting in the audience just absolutely enthralled and it definitely sparked my love of musical theatre πŸ™‚ Its been quite a few years since I saw the show last and I loved it just as much as the first time πŸ™‚ I have done quite a few posts about some of my favourite songs and lyrics from musicals but I thought I would write down some of my favourite lyrics and songs from this show πŸ™‚

Some of my favourite songs:

  • The Wizard and I
  • What is this feeling?
  • Popular
  • Defying Gravity
  • I’m Not That Girl
  • As Long As You’re Mine
  • No Good Deed
  • For Good
  • One Short Day

Some of my favourite lyrics:

  • This weird quirk I’ve tried to suppress or hide, Is a talent that could help me meet the Wizard, If I make good, So I’ll make good- The Wizard and I
  • For you see, my room-mate is………..Unusually and exceedingly peculiar And altogether quite impossible to describe……………..Blonde- What is this Feeling
  • Let’s just say, I loathe it all! Every little trait, however small, Makes my very flesh begin to crawl- What is this Feeling
  • Life’s more painless….. For the brainless……Why think too hard?……When it’s so soothing…….Dancing through life- Dancing through Life
  • Elphie, now that we’re friends, I’ve decided to make you my new project! …….You really don’t have to do that………..I know, that’s what makes me so nice!- Popular
  • Celebrated heads of state, Or specially great communicators!……..Did they have brains or knowledge?…….Don’t make me laugh! They were popular!- Popular
  • Too long I’ve been afraid of……..Losing love I guess I’ve lost…….Well, if that’s love…….. It comes at much too high a cost!- Defying Gravity ]
  • Every so often we long to steal…….To the land of what-might-have-been…….But that doesn’t soften the ache we feel…… When reality sets back in- I’m Not That Girl
  • Was I really seeking good…..Or just seeking attention?……..Is that all good deeds are, When looked at with an ice-cold eye?- No Good Deed
  • Let all Oz be agreed, I’m wicked through and through…….Since I can not succeed, Fiyero, saving you…….I promise no good deed, Will I attempt to do again- No Good Deed
  • There are wonders like I’ve never seen……It’s all grand…….And it’s all greenI think we’ve found the place where we belong!- One Short Day

My favourite songs and lyrics from The Prince of Egypt :)

My favourite songs and lyrics from The Prince of Egypt :)

On the 8th of September I went to see The Prince of Egypt with my friend Hannah which was so so amazing!! This was my second time seeing the show and it was so nice to be back in a theatre and see a show and I absolutely loved it πŸ™‚ I have done quite a few posts about some of my favourite songs and lyrics from musicals but I thought I would write down some of my favourite lyrics and songs from this show πŸ™‚

Some of my favourite songs:

  • Deliver Us
  • Footprints on the Sand
  • Dance To The Day
  • In a Million Years
  • Through Heavens Eyes
  • Always on Your Side
  • Heartless
  • Faster

Some of my favourite lyrics:

  • Sleep and remember my last lullaby, So I’ll be with you when you dream- Deliver Us
  • Footprints on the sand, Ripples on the river Wispy drifting clouds, That blow across the desert sky- Footprints on the Sand
  • But maybe just to leave things, A little changed from when I came- Footprints on the sand
  • But now, I will dance But my dance will be only for me, I dance to the day, I am free- Dance To The Day
  • And if you should ask how soon I think this feeling disappears, Never in a million years- In A Million Years
  • A single thread in a tapestry, Though its color brightly shines, Can never see its purpose, In the pattern of the grand design- Through Heavens Eyes
  • So how do you measure the worth of a man, In wealth or strength or size?- Through Heavens Eyes
  • To pick me up, restore my purpose and my pride, When you were always at my side- Always On Your Side
  • Scattering melons and olives and baskets, And making a small disaster, No time to turn and look back at the damage we’ve done, We’ve got to go faster- Faster

Book Tag Shelfie Pt 3 :)

Book Tag Shelfie Pt 3 :)

I have always loved reading and have quite the collection of books on my bookshelf and on my kindle and have recently bought quite a few books so a month or so ago I thought that I would have a look for some bookish tags that I could do on this blog and I came across this one and thought it was amazing so thought I would give it a go πŸ™‚

This is my third Book Shelfie (my first one can be found here) so I figured I would start on my third shelf πŸ™‚

  1. Is there any reason for this shelf to be organised the way it is or is it purely random? All of my shelves are completely random currently but I would like to go through and organise them a bit better πŸ™‚ This shelf has quite a few of my newer books on it πŸ™‚
  2. Tell us a story about one of the books on this shelf that is special to you? I think the book that probably means the most to me in this shelf is my In The Heights book as my brother bought it for me for my birthday and I love the movie and the show πŸ™‚
  3. Which book from this shelf would you ditch and why? I think the book I would ditch would probably be the Marvel book book Infinity War as I bought it and then realised that I am not really a fan of comic books
  4. Which book from this shelf would you save in an emergency? I think the book I would save in an emergency would be either my In The Heights book or The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo which was such a good book and I bought it while on holiday with my friends in Windsor πŸ™‚
  5. Which book has been on this shelf for the longest time?– Probably Run by Kody Keplinger as I remember reading it in my last year of high school πŸ™‚
  6. Which book is the newest addition to this shelf? The Castaways by Lucy Clarke and Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman were both added to this bookshelf at the same time only a few weeks ago πŸ™‚
  7. Which book from this shelf are you most excited to read/reread? I think The Castaways because the blurb sounds really really good!! If I were to re-read any of the books it would be Evelyn Hugo or The Shelf
  8. Are there any objects on this shelf apart from books, tell us the story behind it? I actually don’t have any objects on this shelf because it has two rows of books so theres not enough space for any other objects πŸ™‚
  9. What does this shelf tell us about you as a reader? I think this shelf tells you that I am a fan of fiction books and am a big fan of rom-com, murder mystery and Disney πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments if you have read any of the books from this shelf and what book you would recommend I read next πŸ™‚

2021 Reading Challenge Part 4 :)

2021 Reading Challenge Part 4 :)

My 2021 reading challenge was to read 24 books this year however I have actually finished this challenge which I’m super proud about πŸ™‚ I have really enjoyed the last few books I have read and am hoping that I can read a few more before the end of the year πŸ™‚

  • The Shelf by Helly Acton: 10/10- I am a big fan of Helly Acton as she has such interesting ideas! I have owned this book for a while but after reading The Couple I decided to read this and it was so good! I loved all of the characters not just the main characters as I felt that they all had their own personalities and were really well developed πŸ™‚ I loved the journey the main character goes through and also some of the side characters as well πŸ™‚
  • The Duke and I by Julia Quinn: 8/10- I was a big fan of Bridgeton when it was on TV but who wasn’t so I figured because I love reading that I would add this book to my to-read list and I’m glad I did πŸ™‚ I’m so excited to read the rest of the series at some point and I actually received book 2 and 3 for my birthday this year πŸ™‚ This book was part of Hannah and I’s book club which was pretty cool as well πŸ™‚
  • Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo: 10/10- I LOVED LOVED LOVED this series when I watched it on Netflix so then was trying to find the books for ages and then I managed to find it while in Foyles with my brother so he bought it for me for my birthday πŸ™‚ I absolutely loved the first book and cannot wait to finish the rest of the series πŸ™‚
  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid: 10/10- This was one of my favourite books that I read this year!!! I heard about it through booktok and thought I would give it a go when I saw it in a waterstones in Windsor while there with my friends πŸ™‚ I loved the pace of the book and it was very well written with the audience finding out information alongside the narrator of the book as well πŸ™‚ It was so interesting seeing the nuances of each marriage of Evelyns and also the two major twists in the book were amazing πŸ™‚
  • If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy: 9/10- I am a sucker for a Disney style plot so this re-telling of Cinderella I was always going to love especially as it also brings in my love of reality television and also I have read two of Julie Murphys other books, Dumplin and Puddin πŸ™‚ This book is the first of an upcoming Meant to Be Series which are modern re-tellings of classic fairytales πŸ™‚
  • Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid: 8/10- I was reading this book on my kindle on the beach in Selsey which was pretty cool πŸ™‚ Although I really enjoyed this book I didn’t enjoy it as much as her other book but it was still really good ❀

Let me know in the comments what books you have been reading recently and if you have any recommendations πŸ™‚

My favourite songs and lyrics from Cinderella :)

My favourite songs and lyrics from Cinderella :)

On the 22nd of August I went to see Andrew Lloyd Webbers new musical Cinderella starring Carrie Hope Fletcher which was so so amazing!! It was so nice to be back in a theatre and see a show and I absolutely loved it πŸ™‚ I have done quite a few posts about some of my favourite songs and lyrics from musicals so I thought since this was the first new show I have seen in over a year I would write a post about some of my favourites from this musical πŸ™‚

Some of my favourite songs:

  • Bad Cinderella
  • So Long
  • Only You Lonely You
  • Beauty has a price
  • I know I have a heart
  • Far Too Late
  • Cinderellas Soliloquy
  • Finale

Some of my favourite lyrics:

  • They call me a wretch, a witch, well, choose one. Every fairytale, for sure, can use one- Bad Cinderella
  • How I’ve missed Cinderella, That’s a total surprise, Not at all what I expected. If I kissed Cinderella, She might blacken my eyes- So Long
  • So long, farewell, It’s really been swell, Have a nice life, Good luck with your wife- So Long (reprise)
  • I’m sky-high and I long to show you, My whole world is altered Yet, I don’t say a thing, Only you Lonely you, Show me how my lonely heart can sing- Only You Lonely You
  • Just like that goddess from Greece, you know, who launched all the ships, So when men stare in my eyes it’s like a solar Π΅clipse- Beauty has a price
  • Buckle up, don’t forget, beauty isn’t cheap, It can cost you all you own and your beauty sleep- Beauty has a Price
  • Like a damsel in distress, In a torn party dress. Someone I never met, I was pretending. Should have known all along, That I need to be strong. For a girl who’s like me, There’s no happy ending- I know I have a Heart
  • If I could, I would somehow turn the clock back, And this heartache I create, But it’s far too late- Far Too Late
  • Look at me, Cinderella, with the wind in my sails, I will never look behind me, You won’t see Cinderella, I’ll be off blazing trails, Where no one I know can find me- Cinderellas Soliloquy

Let me know in the comments if you have been to see Cinderella yet πŸ™‚
