My life is changing UPDATED: Part 1

My life is changing UPDATED: Part 1

A little over a month ago I wrote a blog post about the fact that my life is changing quite a bit at the moment- I have started a college course and changed my job role at work so a lot of professional changes and also I am trying to make some personal ones as well 😊 in this post which can be found here I also write some goals which I’ll update on in this post and make some new ones as well ❀️

1. Update my room slightly and do some organisation 😊: I have managed to do a little bit of this recently actually! I have updated my wall of photos and also added some new organisation decor as well. I still feel like I have some way to go to make my room exactly how I’d like it but it’s a good start.

2. Continue cooking weekly for the family 😊: I have been doing this for a while now however in the last month I have been trying new recipies! As a family we are all trying to eat a little bit better so we’ve introduced a rule of at least one vegetarian meal per week which has been really fun 😊

3. Spend time with Maya and take her somewhere nice 😊: This past month I have really made an effort to spend time with Maya and it has honestly been so much fun!! She tried her first puppuchino, we’ve taken her to the seaside twice and I’ve taken her for some lovely walks! This is definitely a goal that I want to move into next month as well.

4. Get my college notes up to date 😊- I started college at the end of April and it’s been pretty cool so far! I’m actually up to date with my notes amazingly as work have been really good at giving me study time and also I have tried my best to spend time studying in my free time as well. I’m currently working my way through Unit 1 at college leading towards an exam in October.

5. Read 2 books- I actually managed to read 5 books this month which was so cool and probably had something to do with me spending 2 weekends at the beach 😊

Over all I think I’ve had a pretty successful month working on my goals so I’m hoping to continue on that trajectory into next month 😊

Next month I have three pretty cool events planned with friends and family and then I’ll also have some personal goals as well which I’m going to list below 😊

  • Start running again- run at least 4 times this month.
  • Continue cooking at least one vegetarian dish per week
  • Stay on top of my college notes and start working on my NPL
  • Spend time with Maya and take her for nice walks
  • Continue project bedroom make-over/declutter
  • Message/see friends I haven’t seen in a while

Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions of goals or self improvement challenges I should undertake 😊

My life is about to change updated :)

My life is about to change updated :)

Once again my life is about to change as last week I started a new chapter in my life which was really exciting!!! I started college which is the first step of my training to become an RVN! I am working the rest of the time and once a week I will be going to college in order to learn all of the theory behind the practical stuff I will be learning at work πŸ™‚ This means that I am going to be doing a lot of work over the next few years but I’m hoping that it’ll all be worth it in the end πŸ™‚

That being said I would love to re-start my series of blog posts talking about my life changing and making goals πŸ™‚ That being said this will be the first post of this updated series πŸ™‚

  1. Update my room slightly and do a bit of organisation
  2. Continue cooking weekly for the family πŸ™‚
  3. Take Maya to some nice places and spend time with her πŸ™‚
  4. Get all of my notes organised for college.
  5. Read 2 books

I think that will be all of my goals for now and I will update them next month πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments what goals you would like me to add next month and also if you would like to hear more about my journey into veterinary nursing πŸ™‚

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 18 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 19 aims πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it!

This month has been pretty busy but also lots of fun with lots of amazing plans with family and friends although I did end up in the hospital for 5 days which was definitely not fun or in the plan!! I’m doing much better now but still on the mend so taking it slowly and day by day πŸ™‚

  • Spend lots of time with family and friends πŸ™‚ At the end of last month I went to the theatre to see Moulin Rouge with my Mum and her friend which was so much fun πŸ™‚ I had never seen the movie but it is definitely now in my to be watched list! I also met with one of my friends Dorothy and we went out for cocktails and tacos which was such a lot of fun πŸ™‚ We meet up every few weeks to every few months depending on how busy we both are but its always nice to see her πŸ™‚ I also did a day trip to Oxford to go and see my friend Anna with my friend Hannah which was such a lot of fun and we had such a lovely day πŸ™‚
  • Spend lots of time with Maya and continue to work on her training πŸ™‚ I have spent a lot of time with Maya over the last week and a bit due to not being well but we also earlier in the month took her to the beach at Selsey for probably the last time this year which was so much fun πŸ™‚ We ended up leaving to go to the beach at 11pm on the day I got back from the beach which was so funny πŸ™‚
  • Continue to cook twice a week- I was doing so well with my cooking journey however since being ill I haven’t really been cooking very much in the last two weeks however probably after this week I will start getting back into it πŸ™‚ Before that I had cooked a chilli paneer which was super delicious, a harissa chicken naan, teryiaki chicken, thai style pork bowl and naanizas and pasta πŸ™‚
  • Organise my room a bit more- I have a lot more bits that I want to do with regards to tidying my bedroom however I have managed to sell a few of my depop items and one of my vinted items which was pretty cool, I also sorted through my TBR reading cart and have ordered some Halloween decor ready for October!!
  • Celebrate Jamies birthday- The day of my brothers birthday was actually the day that I got ill however they have since managed to pop round for a BBQ so we could give him his presents and also eat some cake (because who doesn’t want cake for their birthday!)
  • Continue on my reading journey :)- I have managed to do a bit of reading in the last month including: Where the Crawdads Sing, Before the Coffee Gets cold, Finding Cinderella and Little Fires Everywhere πŸ™‚ I have also done a major book haul in the last month which I have written a post about which can be found here.

The last month has been such a roller-coaster but I’m super excited for next month as I have lots of nice things planned including a little trip abroad and lots of other bits πŸ™‚

  • Cook twice a week
  • Spend a week in Bruges and Brussels with Hannah πŸ™‚
  • See a West End Show
  • Continue on my reading journey πŸ™‚
  • Tidy my bedroom and sort through my stuff
  • Spend time with Maya and continue on with her training
  • Decorate for Halloween!

Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas what I can use for my aims for my next chapter πŸ™‚

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated- Chapter 17 recap and Chapter 18 aims :)

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 17 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 18 aims πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: The past is a nice place to visit but certainly not a good place to stay.

It has been a really fun few months with trips to the theatre, trips to the beach, concerts and my 25th birthday!!!!! It has been a bit of a whirlwind few months but I’m very excited to be getting back into a routine πŸ™‚

  • Cook twice a week: I absolutely love cooking now and I definitely think I have perfected a few dishes so I’m more than happy with cooking twice a week πŸ™‚ I actually usually end up cooking three times a week as we get the three meal three person box πŸ™‚ Some of my favourite dishes include: Bombay style Lamb curry, Chorizo Naaniza, Coconut Chicken Curry, Halloumi Rigatoni πŸ™‚
  • Take Maya to Selsey for the weekend- We actually ended up taking Maya to Selsey three times in the last few months and its been so much fun πŸ™‚ We took her there for the Jubilee bank holiday which was a really nice long weekend and then took her for two more weekends in July for my and my mums birthday πŸ™‚ Maya absolutely loves the beach and having a swim, we have some lovely take-aways and also I have read a few different books πŸ™‚
  • Spend time with friends and family- Since the last post I have done some lovely things with both friends and family including: going to Little Venice for lunch with my friend Dorothy, going to a few different concerts including Little Mix, Olivia Rodrigo and Ed Sheeran, I’ve been to see a few shows, went out for the day with my two best friends Hannah and Anna and celebrated Vet Nurse Awareness month at work πŸ™‚
  • GYST- Over the past few months since writing the last post of the series I have been attempting to GYST with varying degrees of success. I have managed to repot a LOAD of my tomato plants, I also watered and repotted some of my houseplants as well 😊 I did a bit of organising in my bedroom as well which was really fun ❀️
  • Write a letter to my 30 year old self- Earlier this month I replied to a letter that I wrote to my 25 year old self when I was 22 and it was so much fun so I thought that I would write a letter to my 30 year old self with some goals that I would love to achieve and also notes about where I am in life at the moment πŸ™‚

I have really enjoyed the past few months trying to become a bit more organised and also celebrating my birthday and spending time with Maya at the beach πŸ™‚ I have a few different goals for my next chapter so lets get started:

  • Spend lots of time with family and friends
  • Spend lots of time with Maya and continue to work on her training
  • Continue to cook twice a week
  • Organise my room a bit more
  • Celebrate Jamies birthday
  • Continue on my reading journey πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments if you have any goals for my next chapter or if you have thought about doing something similar to this πŸ™‚

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated- Chapter 16 recap and Chapter 17 aims :)

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 16 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 17 aims πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today

It has been a really fun few months including a trip away to the Spa and a weekend away to Edinburgh which was so so lovely πŸ™‚ I absolutely love going away for weekends and definitely want to do it more often πŸ™‚ I would love to get further with my goals and really work on myself in the following months πŸ™‚

Cook twice a week :)- This has been one of my most consistent goals that I have been able to work on and finesse since starting this challenge and I have been doing quite a bit of cooking. Some of my favourite dinners that I have cooked is chicken gnocchi, butter chicken, beef keema naans, noodles and finally lots of other bits as well πŸ™‚

Update my CV and Linkedin- I still have not done this yet which is absolutely ridiculous and will be one of my main goals in the next chapter!
Watch work videos and dog training videos- I have kept up with my two main dog training videos and have also started watching work videos again which I am going to try and keep up with in the following months.

Go to Edinburgh- I had an absolutely AMAZING time in Edinburgh with my Mum at the start of March πŸ™‚ We spent 4 days there and did a lot of sightseeing, ate some amazing food, had drinks and just had a generally lovely time πŸ™‚ I think some of my favourite moments were climbing up to Arthurs Seat, exploring Edinburgh castle and Holyrood house πŸ™‚

Spa day- One of my brothers usually gets my Mum and I a spa day voucher for Christmas and this year was no different πŸ™‚ This year my brother got us a voucher for Greenwood hotel and spa and it was so lovely πŸ™‚ I ended up reading the second Bridgeton book whilst floating around in the pool, we had some lovely food and just chilled πŸ™‚

Continue to sort out my Bedroom and organise my life- maybe do a bit of a spring clean: I have done a little bit of a GYST this chapter however probably not as much as I would like to because I have just been really busy with life and other things. I have started growing some tomatoes which is really fun πŸ™‚ I ended up going to a cousins wedding during the easter bank holiday weekend, I have been to see lots of musicals including Tina and Jersey boys πŸ™‚ I have also been to a few concerts and went on a work night out πŸ™‚

This chapter has been a bit all over the place and I’m excited to see what else is to come πŸ™‚ I think my next chapter will lead up to my 25th BIRTHDAY!!! I cannot believe that I am going to be a quarter of the century on the 4th of July!! I have a few goals which I am hoping to achieve by then which I will list below πŸ™‚

  • Cook twice a week
  • Take Maya to Selsey for the weekend
  • Write a letter to my 30 year old self
  • Spend time with friends and family πŸ™‚
  • Update my CV and Linkedin
  • GYST

Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas of what goals I should choose for next time πŸ™‚

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated- Chapter 15 recap and Chapter 16 aims :)

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 15 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 16 aims πŸ™‚ Chapter 15 has been focused on trying to work on my New Years resolutions.

Favourite quote of the month: She rescues him right back from Pretty Woman

February has been a really fun month with lots of exciting things that I have done including lots of good food, organising stuff which has been on my to-do list for ages, saw a couple of shows and celebrated Mayas third birthday!! I can’t believe we’ve had her for almost 3 years now!!

  • Cook at least twice a week- During one of the lockdowns we started to get Hello fresh which is a delivery service that drops off boxes of ingredients and a recipe for you to follow which we have been absolutely loving so I have been cooking for my family pretty consistently 2-3 times a week for a while πŸ™‚ Some of our favourite recipies this month include: Harissa chicken, Halloumi tacos, lots of tomato pastas, quick chilli, beef tostadas
  • Spend time with family and celebrate Mayas birthday: As mentioned in my favourite post we decided to go to Brighton on Mayas birthday which was such a lovely day ☺️ she got utterly spoilt with new toys as well!
  • Spend time with friends and see a show: My Mum and I actually went to see two different shows this month which were The Drifters Girl and Pretty Woman The Musical both of which were really fun! I have also this month seen my friend Hannah to go to a Van Gogh exhibit and also saw my friend Dorothy for dinner at a place called Eataly ☺️
  • Sort out my Charity shop/Depop pile: I actually did this relatively early in the month and have taken the bags of stuff to the charity and uploaded everything else to Depop and have even sold my first item!
  • Dye my hair- I actually dyed my hair on the 26th of February and I absolutely love it!! I have had red hair before and as most of you will already know am usually a blonde so this time I thought I would combine the best of both worlds and blend the two ☺️
  • Update my CV and Linkedin- I still haven’t done this which is a bit ridiculous so I will make sure to add it to my list for next month!!
  • Watch 3 work videos a week and also dog training videos- I have been really lax at watching YT videos this month as I have been really busy doing other bits but I will also try and get on this next month πŸ™‚

Last month was full of ups and downs as I did relatively well on some of my goals but on some I really slacked so it would be nice if next month I could complete all of my goals πŸ™‚

  • Cook twice a week πŸ™‚
  • Update my CV and Linkedin
  • Watch work videos and dog training videos
  • Go to Edinburgh
  • Spa day!
  • Continue to sort out my Bedroom and organise my life- maybe do a bit of a spring clean?

  • Spend time with friends and family- I spent some time with a few friends this month and last including going to Lifesize Monopoly with my two best friends and also going to flight club with friends πŸ™‚ I spent quite a bit of time with family over the Christmas period as well which was lovely as we didn’t get the chance to do that last year due to Covid restrictions πŸ™‚
  • Start making a financial plan: I have a few plans for this year with regards to finances and I have done a few different bits to help me along the way but obviously for security reasons I’m not going to talk too much about this πŸ™‚
  • Pack away all of my Christmas decorations and Christmas presents: I actually spent the day on the 2nd of January packing away all of my Christmas decor which took me a very long time
  • Start a New Years workout plan: I have been climbing a few times with my brother and its been a lot of fun πŸ™‚ I have also been back at work since the New Year which always involves lots of walking and movement πŸ™‚ I usually do around 15,000 steps a day at work but some days its slightly more or slightly less but I would like to add more workout ideas during the rest of the year.
  • Get back into the flow at work after Christmas: I have been back at work since the 4th of January and have definitely started to get back into the swing of things πŸ™‚ I would love to watch a few more work videos next month and also carry on learning different things πŸ™‚
  • Update my CV and Linkedin: I updated my Linkedin before Christmas but have yet to actually update my CV so thats something that I will add to my list of aims for next month πŸ™‚

I have had such a lot of fun these last few months working through my goals of starting to sort my life out through the start of the New Year and am hoping that by the end of this year my life will be slightly different and hopefully I will be moving in an upwards trajectory πŸ™‚

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 13 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 14 aims πŸ™‚ Chapter 13 has been really focused on getting back on track since going back to work and celebrating Halloween πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: Life is tough but darling so are you πŸ™‚

This month restrictions in the UK have been lifted for a while now which has been so nice πŸ™‚ I have seen a few friends since my last post, had an amazing Halloween and have also been doing lots of organising e.g. sorting out my room, updating important documents, updating my blog and generally getting ready for Christmas πŸ™‚

  • Complete my Halloween Bucket List- This was one of the first goals that I managed to complete and it was so much fun πŸ™‚ I baked cookies, carved a pumpkin and had lots of spooky fun πŸ™‚ Over the actual Halloween weekend I spent the time with my friend Birunda πŸ™‚
  • Start writing Blogmas posts- I started writing my Blogmas posts at the start of November so that I would have some extra time to write as I am working now but I had the first week of November off from work due to my parents being away on holiday so that I could spend the time with Maya at home πŸ™‚
  • Sort my Bedroom out :)- I have been working my way through my bedroom for a while now as it has been in need of a major sort out for AGES! I started by going through all of my DVDs and CDs πŸ™‚ I then sorted my bookshelf and ordered myself a book-cart which I am slightly obsessed with πŸ™‚ I also did a sort-out of my make-up and clothes as well πŸ™‚
  • Cook as much as possible and do a little bit of baking :)- My family has been doing Hello Fresh boxes for a while now which has been so much fun and also means I have been cooking twice a week for a few months πŸ™‚ We stopped the Hello fresh boxes whilst my parents were away but we have gotten quite a few boxes since the last one of these posts πŸ™‚ I have also done a little bit of baking since then as well πŸ™‚
  • Update my CV and Linkedin- I actually unfortunately didn’t get round to completing updating my CV and Linkedin so that is an aim that will have to be moved to the next chapter πŸ™‚
  • Spend as much time as possible with friends and family :)- One of my friends in the month of October headed off to Canada so I spent quite a bit of time with her before she went- I have also skyped her quite a few times while she’s been away πŸ™‚ I have also hung out with some of my other friends over the last month and a half as well- I saw my friend Birunda quite a few times, spent some time with Hannah, saw my university friends Ria and Ellie πŸ™‚

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 12 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 13 aims πŸ™‚ Chapter 12 has mainly involved getting back into work because I have been off for so long!! Its been so amazing getting back to work and being around the animals again and am definitely learning a lot πŸ™‚

Favourite quote of the month: You only live once but if you do it right once is enough πŸ™‚

The lockdown in the UK has completely eased now with everything opening up to full capacity so the last few months have included lots and lots of lovely things πŸ™‚ I have been to the theatre, to the beach for a few days, to the spa, to a concert and lots of other lovely, amazing things with friends and family ❀ I have also been working full time again for about 3 and a half months which has been really cool!!

I am actually not going to go through my goals that I wrote for the last chapter because it has been so long that a lot of them are no longer relevant and I feel like a bit of a reset is needed so I’m just going to write out some bits that I want to do before December so I am going to give myself a month and a half to get all of this stuff done πŸ™‚

  • Cook as much as possible and do a little bit of baking
  • Sort my bedroom out
  • Update my CV and Linkedin
  • Complete my Halloween Bucket List
  • Start writing Blogmas posts
  • Spend as much time as possible with friends and family πŸ™‚
  • Try and complete my work objectives and watch work videos

My life is changing and I’m going to keep you updated: Chapter 11 recap and Chapter 12 aims :)

On the 9th of July 2020 I uploaded my Month 1 aims for my Changing my life series and now I’ve just finished Chapter 11 of my Changing My Life series and am very excited to get started on my Chapter 12 aims πŸ™‚ Chapter 11 has been really focused on seeing friends and also going back to work full time for the first time since the end of March 2020!

Favourite quote of the month: You are the artist of your own life, don’t give the paintbrush to somebody else πŸ™‚

This month restrictions in the UK have started to lift even more with cinemas re-opening and also we are now allowed to have people inside our houses which has been amazing because the weather hasn’t been the best throughout the month of June either unfortunately 😦 I have seen a few of my friends this month which has been lovely although the main thing that has been taking up my time this month is the fact that I have gone back to work full time πŸ™‚ I have been trying to also complete my goals however I have been very busy but its been so cool πŸ™‚

  • Cook 1 new thing per week- The first thing I cooked this month was a Thai Yellow Meatball curry which was absolutely delicious! I love Thai curries but have never cooked one before so that was really cool and then the second one was a Beef Rogan josh which was pretty good but definitely not my favourite curry that I have made so far πŸ™‚ The next week I made some Sweet Chilli beef and then finally a Halloumi and Sweet Potato curry which was so tasty! I have made a curry every week this month I think so this week I made a Keema Style Beef and then a Chicken Thigh Chow Mein πŸ™‚ Finally in the last week of the month I made an oven baked Sweetcorn and Chorizo risotto, a chicken and plum stir fry and finally a chicken fried rice πŸ™‚
  • Continue working out regularly and re-start my yoga journey- I did do some yoga this month however I wasn’t able to be that productive in that respect so I want to try and make sure to try and pick it up even more next month πŸ™‚ I did do some workouts this month as well- I went for a run at the start of the month, did a few IFIT workouts and at the end of the month I went climbing twice with my brother which was so so much fun! πŸ™‚
  • Continue sorting out my bedroom, go through my make-up and GYSTing- One of the main things that I did with regards to sorting out my bedroom this month was I organised my bookshelves and moved some things around to give myself more space for my books πŸ™‚ I moved my theatre programmes from my book bookshelf over to my DVD bookshelf meaning that I had another shelf on my book bookshelf for all of the new books I have been buying recently πŸ™‚ I then went through my make-up and tried to get rid of anything that I knew I would no longer use or that has been in my collection for a long time so would be out of date πŸ™‚
  • See my friends, Skype Hannah and Anna and celebrate fathers day- Due to the fact that I went back to work this month I didn’t get to see my friends as much as I wanted to however I did manage to see a few of my friends which was amazing πŸ™‚ I skyped my two friends Hannah and Anna early in the month and we organised a trip to Windsor for the first weekend in August which I’m so excited for as I haven’t seen my friend Anna since January 2020 πŸ™‚ I also went out for lunch with my friend Barghavi, for an afternoon tea with my Mum and went for dinner with my friend Dorothy πŸ™‚ For Fathers Day we had a family meal which was so so nice- we ordered a take-away and just chilled at home πŸ™‚ I also have been looking after my Tomato plants who are getting really big and also got my first Covid 19 vaccination!! πŸ™‚
  • Complete the Cyprus chapter of my Nans travel diary :)- I actually haven’t had a chance to work on the Travel diaries this month as I have been so so busy with work.
  • Go back to work and get back into my work flow, continue watching work and training videos and take Maya to puppy class :)- I did in fact watch quite a few work and training videos this month which were all very interesting πŸ™‚ Mayas puppy class has now moved back into the hall which is really cool as it is now not weather dependent and she has been doing really well πŸ™‚ I also did some agility stuff with her in the garden which was so much fun and I have seen my Aunts puppies a few times this month as well πŸ™‚ I went back to work on the 11th of June and it has been so nice being back and using my skills again πŸ™‚
  • Reach 1700 followers on my blog and watch some photography videos- Although I didn’t reach 1700 followers on my blog this month I did reach 1674 which is just amazing!!! I’m so grateful to every single person who follows me on here and I can’t thank you all enough ❀ ❀ ❀

I have had such a lot of fun these last few months working through my goals and sorting my life out and am so ready to continue on this trajectory and get more goals done next month πŸ™‚

  • Cook 1 new thing per week
  • Continue working out regularly and re-start my yoga journey
  • Continue sorting out my bedroom, put away all of my birthday presents and cards
  • Celebrate mine and my mums birthday and see my friends πŸ™‚
  • Continue getting back into the flow at work, watching training and work videos and spending time with MyMy
