December Favs

Dynasties- I am a big fan of David Attenborough so when I heard about his new series I was so excited! This series is a 5 part documentary on the different dynasties in the animal kingdom including Penguins, Chimpanzees, Lions, Tigers and also the ‘Painted Wolf’ which are also known as African Hunting Dogs. The episodes usually follow a particular family and their fight for survival.

Alexa and Katie S2- I was a big fan of the first season of Alexa and Katie so was looking forward to the second season for ages! It was released near the end of December and I binge watched it within two days. I love that the series kept the focus on the friendship between Alexa and Katie which was what I loved about the first series πŸ™‚

Dumplin- This was a new movie on Netflix in December based on a book by Julie Murphy featuring Jennifer Aniston, Dove Cameron, Danielle Macdonald and Odeya Rush. This was an amazing film and I think I cried at least 3 times. I would recommend this film to everyone especially any Dolly Parton fans πŸ™‚

Fantastic Beasts: The crimes of Grindelwald- I am a massive Harry Potter nerd and absolutely loved the first Fantastic Beasts so I was so excited when the second film of the series was announced and released in November. It took me a while to find the time to finally see the film but when I did it was so worth it! You can definitely tell that this film is a part of a series and I definitely didn’t completely understand the ending but I’m so excited to see the rest of the series.

Cheering for me now- Lin Manuel Miranda and John Kander: As some of you may know every month this year Lin Manuel Miranda has been releasing a song a month calling them Hamildrops which I have absolutely loved πŸ™‚ Novembers Hamildrop was a brand new song Cheering for me now and I absolutely loved it πŸ™‚

June-November Favourites 😊

June-November Favourites 😊

Movies:

Mamma Mia, here we go again- As a fan of ABBA and the first mamma Mia film I had been excited for this movie since it was announced. I rushed to the cinema as soon as it was released with my mum and the film was everything I wanted and more 😊 the combination of Amanda Seyfried and Lily James is amazing and the new cast work so well with the favourites from the old cast and the songs are incredible.

The incredibles 2- Another film that I had been waiting forever to see, I went with my best friend Birunda to go see the film almost as soon as it was released and I absolutely loved it 😊 the film picks up just after the first film finished and follows the exploits of the incredibles as they fight a brand new villain.

To all the boys I’ve loved before- I read the book of this movie last summer and thought the storyline was hilarious and such a clever idea. Noah Centineo and Lana condor are both adorable and amazing in this movie 😊 it’s a classic teenage rom-com and it’s amazing πŸ’•

Music:

Thank you next, Ariana grande- I am a big Ariana Grande fan and I absolutely love this new song 😊 instead of bashing her ex’s she decided to show us how she grew from the pain and how she takes positivity out of each thing she learnt from her relationships. I applaud her so much and the song is indeed a smash. The music video is ICONIC and incorporates all of my favourite teen movies 😊

Woman like me, little mix- I have been a fan of Little Mix since they were on the x-factor which feels like forever ago and they have grown so much as artists since then and I love the vibe of their new single woman like me, it’s catchy and so amazing 😊

YouTube:

The Try Guys- My friend Ria recommended The Try Guys to me (hi if ur reading this 😜) and over the past few months I have been watching them more and more. They are 4 guys who do silly challenges and just go about their lives. Eugene is my favourite because behind his tough exterior he seems so sweet and he can rock any fashion look!

InReelLife: Stephen is a YouTuber who does videos on all things musical theatre and I’m obsessed with all of his pop culture references πŸ˜‚ he loves the same musicals as me and his skits are hilarious. His ‘when ur obsessed with…..’ videos always make me laugh so much.

Amy Lovatt: Another theatre youtuber who I have recently discovered and love. Her videos are amazing and her voice is incredible! She posts covers, ‘types of … fans’ videos and all things theatre so I would highly recommend her channel if you are also a big musical theatre fan πŸ’•

Random:

Spectrum brushes- I have been a fan of Spectrum brushes for a while especially in the last year since I bought my first set of spectrum brushes on Black Friday last year 😊 During the past few months I went to the Spectrum store on Carnaby street to see their new collections including their new Mean Girls brushes which I fell in love with and I ended up buying a set…. ooops!!

When the curtain falls- I actually read this book on my kindle whilst on holiday with my family in Portugal and I absolutely loved it! It incorporates two of my favourite things- theatre and Carrie Hope Fletchers writing! I loved her first two books and this one is no different πŸ’•

Music:

Daddy issues- Demi Lovato: I am actually going to see Demi Lovato live on the 10th of June and this is one of the songs that I am really really excited to hear live πŸ™‚ The beat is incredible and everytime I hear it I can’t help but get up and dance ❀ I first heard a snippet of this song in her documentary Simply Complicated and then went to listen to the full song and absolutely fell in love πŸ™‚

First Burn- Lin Manuel Miranda: This song has been playing in my flat repeatedly since Lin released it as the April Hamildrop. This song makes me feel so fierce and like I can conquer anything which I absolutely love and shows how badass Eliza was in the first draft of hamilton.

Apps:

Harry Potter- Hogwarts Mystery: I have been playing this app relentlessly since it was released in April and I absolutely love it! I hate the fact that it takes so long for the energy to reload but love the idea and the classes and being able to explore hogwarts. I am currently a third year and am in Gryffindor house πŸ™‚

Movies:

Thor Ragnarok: I am quite late to the party with this film because although I am a fan of Marvel it wasn’t until recently that I actually sat down and fully watched many of the Marvel movies and I don’t know why but this one stood out as one of my favourites! I love Chris Hemsworth (who wouldn’t :p ) so thats already a plus but the comedy in this movie is phenomenal as well as the action scenes and seeing certain characters interact for the first time for example Loki and Doctor Strange.

Randoms:

RedBubble: Recently I decided to buy some stickers to cover my laptop with because IΒ  got inspired by Kalyn Nicholson who has started covering her laptop with stickers from her favourite shows and quotes that have emotional significanceΒ  πŸ™‚ I found the website Red Bubble which sells really nice stickers at a reasonable price and if you are buying quite a few it gives you discounts which is so cool πŸ™‚

Carrie Hope Fletchers Blog Self-careathon- Throughout the month of April Carrie Hope Fletcher took part in the Blurt Foundations Self Care-athon where she would post one blog post per day based on a specific topic surrounding self care and mental health. I absolutely loved these posts and found myself refreshing her page daily waiting for the next ones and then during the month of May when they had all been uploaded and I was very stressed due to exams and deadlines I found myself rereading them to remind myself that self care is very important and we should take care of ourselves and our mental health during stressful times.

April Favourites 2018

April Favourites 2018

Carrie Hope Fletchers Album- I am a big musical theatre and Disney nerd so when I heard that Carrie was making an album filled with her Disney and Musical Theatre covers I was thrilled because I have watched Carries videos for a few years now and her voice is incredible πŸ™‚ She has been in quite a few shows including Les Mis and The addams family both of which are featured on the album in some way πŸ™‚

Alexa and Katie- My friend Hannah recommended this TV show to me a few weeks ago so whilst procrastinating I decided to give it a go and ended up binge watching the entire season in an afternoon…… ooops. This show was a mix of the new CW show Life Sentence, Girl Meets world and the show Red Band Society πŸ™‚

Santa Clarita Diet- I have heard so many people talk about this show and Season 2 of this show came out at the end of March so I figured it would be a good time to start watching it and see if I liked it πŸ™‚ I love Drew Barrymore as an actress and this is definitely different to what she usually does because generally I associate her with Rom Coms but she was so good in this show!

The Perfectionists- I am a big fan of PLL so when I heard that they are making a spin off series including Mona and Allison I was so excited! Recently on a shopping trip I went into my local WHsmith and found out that they were having a clearance sale so the book of this series was only Β£3 so I decided to buy and read it before the series is released and I absolutely loved it πŸ™‚

March Favourites 2018 :)

Anastasia- After watching Carrie Hope Fletchers video of her and Oliver Ormson singing In a Crowd of Thousands from the Anastasia Musical I decided to watch the film because I hadn’t watched it in forever! I have watched it a few times since then because the songs are incredible and I love the storyline πŸ™‚ I can’t wait for the musical to come to the UK!

Tonight/Found- As a big fan of both Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen I was really excited when I heard that the March #HamilDrop was a mash up of The Story of Tonight from Hamilton and For Forever from Dear Evan Hansen featuring Ben Platt and Lin Manuel ! I would highly recommend listening to this if you are a fan of either musical πŸ™‚

Dottie James Videos- On the 23rd of February Dottie James uploaded a video to her channel titled Changing my life in One year- Trying Change Chapter One where she talked about being unsatisfied in her life and how she wanted to change some things so was giving herself 365 days to make these changes and said that every week she would bring us along on her journey and update us on the way which I thought was such a cool idea and I have been eagerly sitting at my laptop every week awaiting her new video πŸ™‚

A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2-Β Based on the best selling books by Lemony Snicket this series follows the three Baudelaire orphans- Violet, Claus and Sunny, when they are placed under the care of Count Olaf ,played by Neil Patrick Harris, who will stop at nothing to steal the Baudelaire fortune including following them from guardian to guardian dressed up in ridiculous costumes.Β  As a big fan of theΒ  first season which focused on the first 4 books of the series I was very excited to see how they continued the story by showing the next 5 books of the series and they did not disappoint! πŸ™‚

February Favourites 2018 :)

February Favourites 2018 :)

The Greatest Showman- I first heard about this movie from my flatmate Su when she showed me the trailer and I loved the look of it so kept the release date in my head because any movie with Zac Efron and Zendaya is a must see πŸ™‚ On the 5th of January my Mum and I decided to go to the cinema and I suggested The Greatest showman- we both came out of the cinema singing the songs wanting to join the circus! Its such a feel good movie and I have since lost count of the amount of times I have listened to the soundtrack and I can’t wait for the DVD to come out πŸ™‚

Coco- Any Disney movie is a must see movie for me so when I heard that they were doing a movie about Dia de los muertos (the day of the dead) I was intrigued. This movie is incredible and is really heartwarming- there’s lots of heartfelt family moments but its also funny at times and has some great twists and also music πŸ™‚ After watching this movie I recommended it to a few friends and they have all gotten back to me saying that they also loved it πŸ™‚

Rem Life- I only started watching RemLife in December after one of my friends recommended her videos to me during vlogmas and I was instantly hooked because of her infectious optimism- Remi is very much a girly girl who loves Disney and is going through a lifestyle change of eating healthy and living her best life which I find so inspiring.

Dear Evan Hansen Soundtrack- This is a relatively new favourite as I only recently discovered this amazing musical πŸ™‚ I had heard a few of the songs before but had never really paid any attention to this musical but I saw it popping up on my social media more and more so decided to sit down and listen to the whole soundtrack and I am so glad I did. I would recommend this soundtrack to any musical theatre lovers and my two favourite songs are Waving through a window and Sincerely Me πŸ™‚
