July-ving and thriving Day 27: Week 17 of working from home :)

July-ving and thriving Day 27: Week 17 of working from home :)

I started the week with a Gyst day on my laptop working through lots of my emails and different bits of life admin πŸ™‚ Then on the Tuesday I did some shopping and bought two new toys for Maya who has been thoroughly spoilt this week!! I went for my first outside run with Maya this week on Wednesday which was so much fun and she absolutely loved it! ❀ We were both absolutely knackered by the time we got back! I then went to Mcdonald’s with my family for lunch which was so lovely ❀ We ordered in the restaurant and then took it away to sit in the park which was so nice πŸ™‚ Then on Thursday my Mum and I headed to a garden centre with my mums best friend for some lunch and some shopping πŸ™‚ My friend Dorothy came down from London on Friday and we went to a restaurant called Baghattis which has amazing food for lunch πŸ™‚ Saturday was another GYST day but this time I was cleaning my room and then on Sunday Barghavi came round for the day which was so so lovely πŸ™‚ I gave Maya a bath in the morning which meant she was all fluffy by the afternoon! Barghavi had bought some different gins for us to try with her so we ordered KFC for lunch and sat in front of the tv with a Gin and lemonade for a Disney marathon of Brother Bear and then Lady and the Tramp and then the whole family had a BBQ ❀

Let me know in the comments what you got up to last week πŸ™‚

July-ving and thriving Day 21: Dog Training

July-ving and thriving Day 21: Dog Training

Maya is now 18 months old which is crazy as it feels like only yesterday she was a tiny puppy and one of the things that I have absolutely loved doing with her is training πŸ™‚ She is a really well behaved dog when she wants to be and one of my goals for the month is to improve my dog training so I have compiled some of the training videos that I have of Maya πŸ™‚

Sit, Down and Stand

Paw– This is one that I absolutely love and definitely comes in handy when trying to put on her harness as you can just ask for her paw in order to slip the harness on πŸ™‚

Bed – This is a relatively new one for Maya and I think she has come on leaps and bounds since we first started learning it πŸ™‚ She can now go to her bed from about 6 steps away otherwise she gets distracted but we’re getting there πŸ™‚

Hold – This is a new trick that she has been learning where she has to hold an object in her mouth which I’m hoping I will be able to expand into a fetch/retrieve πŸ™‚

Stay- Maya can stand, sit and down stay and I would say stand stay is her worst one because we have only just started learning it however with a down stay she will stay there for around 4 minutes without moving πŸ™‚

Leave– Maya is not very food orientated so leaving food isn’t too much of a chore for her however making her leave a toy in the middle of a game is a struggle because she is always wanting to play!

Touch– I use touch for Maya to mean that she has to touch her nose to my hand and Maya learnt touch relatively early on and it has come in really handy with learning heel-work πŸ™‚

Twist + Spin- Twist and spin was again something Maya learnt relatively early on pretty much straight after Sit and Down and it has always been one of my favourites πŸ™‚ I usually do it near the start of a training session to get her excited and motivated πŸ™‚

Maya also knows Middle where she will run to the middle of your legs, heel-work + close where she will stay close to you while you walk or go to the heel-work position and is learning weave where she will weave in-between your legs and tunnel where she goes through an agility tunnel πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments if you have a dog and some of the tricks they can do ❀

July-ving and thriving Day 20: Week 14, 15 and 16 of Working from Home

Its been a few weeks since I updated you guys on my life working from home and its been a busy few weeks! I have been chilling with Maya, had BBQs and mojitos, have walked my mums friends dog around my birthday which I wrote a post about here πŸ™‚ The night before my birthday my oldest brothers fiancee came round and watched Hamilton with us which was so much fun πŸ™‚ I have met up with my friends at a park which had a lake which was so lovely, then my friend Hannah came round to have a picnic in the garden which I wrote about here and it was my Mums birthday on the 16th as well πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments what you have been up to the last few weeks πŸ™‚

July-ving and thriving Day 17: Summer picnic :)

July-ving and thriving Day 17: Summer picnic :)

On the 11th of July Hannah came round to my garden for a Summer picnic and it was so nice so I thought I would put some of the photos from the day and write down some of my summer picnic essentials πŸ™‚

  1. Cute picnic mat and picnic basket πŸ™‚
  2. Summery dresses for a photoshoot πŸ™‚
  3. Lots and lots of food! We decided to have an afternoon tea themed picnic so had scones, sandwiches, cakes and also some fruit, crisps and potato salad as I always think that you would rather have too much food and options so you can have leftovers for the rest of the family/lunch the next day rather than wishing that you had more options/food πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments what you would want in your summer picnic πŸ™‚

July-ving and thriving Day 8: My life is about to change Pt 2 :)

July-ving and thriving Day 8: My life is about to change Pt 2 :)

2 years ago I wrote a blog post called My Life is about to change- I’ll keep you updated and my life has definitely changed since then! Since then I have graduated university, moved out of my flat in London with friends and moved back to my family home, had spinal surgery, got a job at Battersea Cats and Dogs Home and finally got a puppy who is now a year and a half old ❀ I have also been on lots of trips to various different places and done many other exciting things πŸ™‚

During lockdown I have been feeling very unmotivated and lethargic and missing going out and seeing my friends so I thought that I would restart the project that I started 2 years ago potentially with a few small changes ❀ I will be updating you guys once a month and I can’t wait for my first update πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments what you are excited to hear about πŸ™‚

July-ving and thriving Day 7: What I got for my 23rd Birthday :)

July-ving and thriving Day 7: What I got for my 23rd Birthday :)

*DISCLAIMER* I am not in any way trying to brag or show off I just love reading these types of posts and watching these kinds of videos so I thought I might try and do one myself ❀ *DISCLAIMER*

I have been so lucky this year especially during lockdown to receive some lovely presents which have all been super thoughtful and special ❀

From my parents I got lots of bath stuff which I absolutely love because I have been taking loads of baths during lockdown! I also got a subscription to Birchbox for 6 months which I am so excited for! ❀ I also got an amazing lilac Kate Spade bag which I am so excited to take out when I can actually leave the house πŸ™‚ I feel so lucky and loved ❀

From my friend Birunda I got a personalised notebook and an apron because during lockdown I have really gotten into cooking/baking so I am so excited to look very stylish next time I cook ❀

From my other friend Barghavi I got a bag of goodies including a dress that I borrowed from her when we were in Birmingham which I loved, some Milo, chocolate, wine and a Harry potter mug which changes colour when you pour hot water in alongside a few other bits πŸ™‚

I got a chocolate box from my two friends Hannah and Anna which was so lovely and I’m very excited to try all of the cookies and cakes πŸ™‚ They also got in touch with some of my university friends and made a video of everyone saying Happy Birthday πŸ™‚

From my brother and his fiancee I got a Hamilton t-shirt because my brothers fiancee and I watched the Hamilfilm the day before my birthday which was so much fun as we ordered dominos, ate popcorn and the film was amazing!

Finally my other brother Billy got me an experience where I go up to London and will make cocktails which are Harry Potter themed in a ‘cauldron” and you get to wear a cape and I’m so excited!! Billys girlfriend got me a facemask and a Mac lipstick which was so sweet of her ❀

Let me know in the comments what is the first thing you’re going to buy when you can go to the shops in your country 😊

July-ving and thriving Day 6: My 23rd Birthday :)

July-ving and thriving Day 6: My 23rd Birthday :)

On the 4th of July 2020 at approximately 6.37am I turned 23 πŸ™‚ A lockdown birthday was always going to be weird but I had such a great day/weekend ❀

On the 3rd of July my brothers fiancee Emma came round so that we could watch the Hamilton movie on Disney + which I was so excited for! My Mum let me open one of my presents early which was a box of DonutTime Donuts for us to decorate and eat while watching the movie and we also had popcorn, brownies and other lovely bits πŸ™‚ When she arrived we ordered a Dominoes Pizza and then sat down to watch the movie which was absolutely amazing and I can’t recommend it enough!!!

When I woke up on my birthday I looked on my phone and replied to some messages and my two friends Hannah and Anna (who are both amazing) had sent me a video that they had made which had all of my university friends and them saying Happy Birthday and it was so cute!!! After crying from cuteness for about 5 minutes I then got ready and headed downstairs, had some eggy bread and my mum and I headed out to walk her friends dog that we had promised to walk for the weekend πŸ™‚ When we got back I got ready while my mum and brother set up the Gazebo and then opened some presents which  will talk about in a post tomorrow πŸ™‚ By this time Barghavi had arrived so we went out to the garden for drinks and then my brother and his fiancee arrived and then my friend Birunda and the party was able to start πŸ™‚ We had pre-ordered Bacon sandwiches for everyone so my mum went to pick them up and then after the Bacon sandwiches an Ice cream van arrived!!

After Ice cream we danced to some Little Mix because Barghavi and I were meant to be going to see them on my birthday 😦 and then after dancing we chilled for the rest of the evening and it was so lovely πŸ™‚ It was so nice to be able to see my friends and family on my birthday as restrictions have started lifting in the UK meaning that we can meet in bigger groups and spend time together πŸ™‚ they all made the day so special ❀️

The next day I went round to my nan’s to say Hi, walked Maisie and then in the evening Hannah, Anna and I had organised a Zoom meeting and had decided to all order a Chinese so that it was like we were at a restaurant all together πŸ™‚ It was so lovely to see them because it had been quite a while as Anna is in Oxford and Hannah lives in Twickenham 😦

Overall I had such a lovely birthday and want to say Thank you to everyone who made it so special ❀ ❀

Let me know in the comments what you want to do for your next birthday πŸ™‚
