Dublin 2020 :)

Dublin 2020 :)

On the 4th of January I met my friends Birunda and Barghavi at Gatwick airport and flew to Dublin for a girlie weekend away πŸ™‚ Birundas birthday is on the 8th of January so it was also a bit of a birthday celebration as well πŸ™‚ When we arrived we got on a bus from the airport to our airbnb and fell straight to sleep because we were all knackered!! The next day we woke up, had a delicious breakfast at a local cafe and then headed into central Dublin πŸ™‚ After a wander about we headed to Trinity College which is absolutely beautiful!

On our way out of Trinity college my friend Barghavi spotted a Whisky museum which she really wanted to go into so we ended up having a tour πŸ™‚ It was really interesting learning all about the history of Whisky and there was a Whisky tasting at the end which was actually a lot of fun and I surprised myself by liking some of the whiskies!

After the Whisky Museum we headed along Grafton street towards the National Gallery of Ireland and then to a BBQ place for some dinner πŸ™‚

Once we couldn’t eat another bite we headed along to Dublin castle which was absolutely beautiful! It was still decorated for Christmas so there were loads of Christmas trees and fairy lights πŸ™‚

After marvelling at Dublin Castle we headed along to The Temple Bar for a drink because you can’t go to Dublin without popping into Temple Bar for a drink!! We then headed to a place called Georges which is an LGBTQ bar/nightclub where we danced the night away πŸ™‚

The next morning we woke up late and headed to the Guinness factory/storehouse because Birunda really likes Guinness and when in Dublin you have to drink Guinness πŸ˜›

After the tour of the Guinness Storehouse it was time to head to the airport and head home 😦

Overall I absolutely loved Dublin, everyone is so friendly and I would definitely go back again in a heartbeat πŸ™‚

Dorset 2019 :)

Dorset 2019 :)

Last summer my friend Ellie and I got on a train to visit our other friend Ria in her hometown of Dorset which was so much fun and so we decided to make it an annual thing so on the 20th of August 2019 we headed back up to Dorset πŸ™‚ We made chocolate chip cookies on the second day and then that evening we went to a lovely restaurant where I had the most amazing fish and chips, chocolate mouse and then we had fudge after as well πŸ™‚ The next day we went to an agricultural show where we saw some show jumping, had some food and saw some award winning cattle, sheep and goats πŸ™‚ On the Friday we went to West Bay where they filmed Broadchurch S1, had some ice cream, swam in the sea and chilled πŸ™‚ On the Saturday which was the final full day we had in Dorset we headed to Durdle Dor which was absolutely beautiful, went for a swim up to and then through the arch and chilled ❀

Mexico 2019 <3

Mexico 2019 <3

If you have been following me for a while you will know that my family has gone to Mexico 3 times in the last 4 years and this year we decided to head back for a fourth time 😊 We stayed at the Secrets Akumal from the 26th of June to the 7th of July πŸ’•

The first few days of the holiday were spent chilling in the hotel, swimming in the pool and also swimming in the sea where we saw around 8 turtles whilst we were were there as they feed on the beach by the hotel 😊

On the 30th of June and the 1st of July we went to football as one of the reasons we decided to go to Mexico again as my oldest brother was playing in the Medics World Cup for the GB medics 😊

After the game on the 1st of July we went to a place called Casa Tortuga where we swam in Cenotes πŸ’•

The next day we went to Coba which is one of the last Mayan ruins you can actually climb up! It was very tiring but totally worth it for the view at the top 😊 We had to climb up on our hands and knees and then slide down because it was so steep!

From the 4th to the 6th we went to football as they actually got to the final and won!!! They played 6 games in 7 days which is a bit ridiculous especially in the Mexico heat!

There were so many lovely restaurants in the Secrets Akumal including a French restaurant and a place called Himitsu which was my absolute favourite πŸ™‚ Whilst we were there I decided to try Canard a L’Orange and Mussels in the French restaurant and then in Himitsu we decided to try Sake πŸ™‚

Portugal 2018

Portugal 2018

On the 11th of July I headed to Portugal with my Mum and Dad for a weeks holiday πŸ™‚ The last few years we have gone to Mexico for our summer holiday but this year we decided to go to Portugal for many different reasons but hopefully in Summer 2019 we will return to Mexico πŸ™‚ We stayed at a hotel near the beach which also had a marina on the opposite side and I ended up spending most of my time by the pool. I was either by the pool reading, sitting in a restaurant around the marina drinking a Sangria eating pizza or walking along the beach πŸ™‚

Kingly Court, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street πŸ’•

Kingly Court, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street πŸ’•

Yesterday I met my friend Dorothy in Oxford Street for some food and shopping because I hadn’t seen her in ages and it was her birthday at the end of November 😊 we did some shopping and looked at the Oxford Street lights which are always beautiful and then wandered along Carnaby Street where the Christmas lights this year are based on the film Bohemian Rhapsody 😊

We then wandered along to Kingly Court where they have gorgeous lights and quite a few nice restaurants 😊 we ended up in a restaurant called Whyte and Brown where they sell free range chicken and halloumi burgers!

Let me know in the comments if you have ever been to Kingly Court or have seen the Carnaby Street lights this year 😊

5 more Instagrammable dessert places in London :)

5 more Instagrammable dessert places in London :)

As some of you may recall earlier in the year I wrote a blog post about some of the cafes and dessert shops I had been to in London explaining what I thought about them which can be found here:Β https://gracethoroughgoodbeauty.wordpress.com/2018/01/12/10-places-in-london-that-will-give-your-friends-foodenvy/ Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β . Since then I have been to a few more places since I am still living in london (at least for the next few weeks) so I thought I would update you guys on some of my findings πŸ™‚

1. Peggy Porschen Cakes – This was one which my friend Hannah suggested and I have to say is one of my favourites on this list! The cakes are delicious, the interior design is gorgeous meaning that the Instagram possibilities are endless! The only slight negative I can find for this cafe is that sometimes you may have to queue for a while because it is quite popular πŸ™‚

2. Dominique Ansel Bakery- I had heard quite a bit about this cafe through friends and had seen it on quite a few people’s Instagrams so was very excited which my friend Hannah suggested that we go there πŸ™‚ It is famous for its cronuts and beautiful interior design πŸ™‚ Unfortunately I did not get to try one of their cronuts because we arrived too late (but have since tried a cronut from somewhere else and wasn’t that enthralled- don’t hate me!). I would suggest if you really want one of the cronuts that you arrive very early!

3. Knockbox Coffee- After walking past Knockbox Coffee every day for 8 months I finally decided to go in and try their coffee which was absolutely delicious and also tried a slice of the blueberry loaf which was so lovely πŸ™‚ There are benches so that you can sit outside if its one of the few sunny days we get here in Britain which I can imagine would be really nice πŸ™‚

4. Bea of Bloomsbury- This is another cafe that I walked past for the last 8 months on my way to university so after my exams finished I decided it was finally time to head in and try one of the cakes πŸ™‚ The interior was gorgeous, I was sat at a table in the corner with comfy benches, cushions and it felt like a classic comfy cafe, the cake was delicious and the people was so lovely! I also saw someone else having an afternoon tea which looked incredible so I may have to return with my mum for an afternoon tea at some point πŸ™‚

5. Soft serve society- Since my exams are now finished I have found myself heading out to new places and found myself in Shoreditch recently which was so much fun πŸ™‚ I headed to the Shoreditch box-park which is really nice πŸ™‚ The box-park is filled with nice dessert places and food places including Soft Serve Society πŸ™‚ Although Soft Serve Society is known for its charcoal ice cream I decided to get the Cloud 9 sundae because I saw that it had candyfloss which I love πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments if there are any cute dessert places in London that you think I should check out πŸ™‚

Berlin 2018

Berlin 2018

On the 23rd of March my Mum and I flew to Berlin, Germany for a weekend getaway because it was one of the few major European cities that neither of us had ever visited!! When we arrived we got the bus from the airport to the hotel, checked in and dumped our bags and spotted a German Market and a big shopping centre with a Sephora quite near to our hotel which looked like they might be fun to explore πŸ™‚

After doing a little bit of shopping we then jumped onto a bus towards the Brandenburg Gate which is a major Berlin landmark and had a wander around that area where there is also the Holocaust Memorial and The Reichstag.

Whilst wandering we came across a Gianni Versace exhibition which we decided to explore because both my Mum and I are into Fashion and it looked really interesting πŸ™‚ They had videos of some of the old catwalks which included people like Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell which was really cool! They also had some of his designs on display πŸ™‚

After the Gianni Versace exhibition we wandered back towards our hotel to grab some dinner- we ended up grabbing a burger- and also went past the Berliner Dom and St Hedwigs cathedral πŸ™‚

The next morning we jumped on a tour bus so that we could enjoy some of the sights and also get information about some of the citys landmarks πŸ™‚ We jumped off the tourbus to take photos at Checkpoint Charlie and Neptunbrunnen.

From Checkpoint Charlie we then walked to Gemuse Kebabs which was a Kebab stand my brother had recommended we check out πŸ™‚ The food was incredible and if I ever go back to Berlin I will be sure to find this Kebab stand again πŸ™‚

After the Kebab we were both very very full so jumped back on the bus heading back to our hotel stopping off at Gendarmenmarkt and Maurreste which is one of the few places you can see the remnants of the Berlin WallΒ  πŸ™‚

We arrived back at our hotel and realised that it was nearly Sunset and that our hotel had a rooftop bar so we raced up there so that we could see the view of the city with the sunset πŸ™‚ It was absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of my trip (apart from the kebab and the cocktails coming up :P)

We then went for a walk to find some dinner and instead found a really cute cocktail bar so decided to have a sit and have a few cocktails before dinner as we were still slightly full from the kebabs from earlier πŸ™‚

After the cocktails we went and found some dinner, headed back to our hotel to put on some facemasks, eat some chocolate and watch some tv πŸ™‚ The next morning we woke up and got back on the tour bus but this time doing the Green Route which took up past the East Side Gallery!!

We then went to the Victory Column which was really cool and even went up to the top which was really cool! After that we went along to the Synagoge which was so beautiful πŸ™‚

The morning of our last day we woke up and went to the Fernsehturm which was really close to our hotel and went up to the top πŸ™‚ The Fernsehturm is the highest tv tower in Germany πŸ™‚

After the Fernsahturm we had some lunch in a restaurant which made amazing ice cream sundaes!! We then found a little courtyard with a fountain which had statues depicting Brothers Grimm fairytales and then flew home πŸ™‚
