On the 4th of January I met my friends Birunda and Barghavi at Gatwick airport and flew to Dublin for a girlie weekend away 🙂 Birundas birthday is on the 8th of January so it was also a bit of a birthday celebration as well 🙂 When we arrived we got on a bus from the airport to our airbnb and fell straight to sleep because we were all knackered!! The next day we woke up, had a delicious breakfast at a local cafe and then headed into central Dublin 🙂 After a wander about we headed to Trinity College which is absolutely beautiful!
On our way out of Trinity college my friend Barghavi spotted a Whisky museum which she really wanted to go into so we ended up having a tour 🙂 It was really interesting learning all about the history of Whisky and there was a Whisky tasting at the end which was actually a lot of fun and I surprised myself by liking some of the whiskies!
After the Whisky Museum we headed along Grafton street towards the National Gallery of Ireland and then to a BBQ place for some dinner 🙂
Once we couldn’t eat another bite we headed along to Dublin castle which was absolutely beautiful! It was still decorated for Christmas so there were loads of Christmas trees and fairy lights 🙂
After marvelling at Dublin Castle we headed along to The Temple Bar for a drink because you can’t go to Dublin without popping into Temple Bar for a drink!! We then headed to a place called Georges which is an LGBTQ bar/nightclub where we danced the night away 🙂
The next morning we woke up late and headed to the Guinness factory/storehouse because Birunda really likes Guinness and when in Dublin you have to drink Guinness 😛
After the tour of the Guinness Storehouse it was time to head to the airport and head home 😦
Overall I absolutely loved Dublin, everyone is so friendly and I would definitely go back again in a heartbeat 🙂
Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever been to Dublin 🙂
