March Favourites 2019 :)

Six The Musical- My friend Ellie actually recommended this show to me when I went round there one evening and since then I have been listening to it constantly! My three favourite songs are Ex-Wives, No Way, Don’t Lose Your Head, and Six. I love their performance at West End Live- Millie Connell who plays Anne Boleyn is absolutely amazing 🙂

Sucker- The Jonas Brothers: I loved the Jonas Brothers during their Camp Rock Disney days and then after when they started their music career. Although I love Nicks solo music and also DNCE I’m so happy that they are back together and loved #LateLateJonas.

Captain Marvel- On the 22nd of March I went to see the cinema to see Captain Marvel and I absolutely loved it! I love that this film is all about Female Empowerment and I also loved the storyline and going back to the start of the MCU and filling a few mysteries along the way such as what happened to Nick Furys eye. The Post Credit Scene made me so excited for Avengers Endgame which is coming out in April.

Heathers The Musical UK Cast Recording- I actually went to see Heathers twice throughout it run and absolutely loved it and wrote a blog post about it which can be found here. One of the reasons I enjoyed Heathers so much was the music so I was so excited when the Heathers Cast Recording was announced 🙂

Top 5 Stan Lee cameos in the MCU 😊

1. Thor Ragnarok- This Stan Lee Cameo gives us one of Stan’s most amazing costumes  and always makes me laugh, its also nice that Stan gets to be involved in a pretty pivotal moment for Thor.
2. Incredible Hulk- In this cameo Stan Lee is revealed to be the one who drank the contaminated drink which had Hulk blood in it. This is one of my favourite cameos because I love the idea of Stan Lee turning into the hulk or getting some of the hulks power.
3. Captain America Civil War- I love this movie and its one of my favourites in the MCU which extends to the Stan Lee Cameo, after being mistaken for Hugh Hefner and Larry King by Tony Stark in the first two Iron Mans Stan gets his revenge.
4. Avengers Age of Ultron- This one is in here because it makes me laugh and also includes Stan Lee saying one of his most iconic lines- Excelsior.
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2- Some people consider this one of the worst Stan Lee cameos but after finding out a bit more about the MCU Comic universe it actually becomes one of the most interesting because it links all of his cameos. In this scene he is talking to the Watchers who are part of the Fantastic Four franchise and they are tasked with observing the universe without interfering so this scene makes it obvious that all of the cameos seen so far in the universe are the same person who is an informant for the watchers.

Top 5 Marvel Villains

1. Thanos- Thanos is a villain who was 10 years in the making throughout the MCU appearing in post credit scenes after the two Avengers movies, appearing for a brief period in Guardians of the Galaxy but he is also the one pulling the strings behind a few other of my favourite villains throughout the series.
2. Killmonger- This is one Marvel villain who actually kind of wins the moral argument in the movie even if he doesn’t go the right way about it and actually changes the heros mind through the movie. Michael Jordon is also an amazing actor and really brings heart and a confidence to this character.
3. Hela- Cate Blanchett makes a wonderful Goddess of Death and has an amazing storyline. She can stand up to the God of Thunder and actually overpowers him as it takes Ragnarok and the fall of Asgard to defeat her. 
4. Loki- As stated in a previous blog post I love Loki and I think he is one of my favourite Marvel characters and he is definitely one of my favourite villains. He is the God of Mischief, is absolutely hilarious is such an interesting character. He has  changed the most throughout the ten year Marvel span as  by the end of Thor Ragnarok he has become a key element in the revengers fighting against Hela and Thanos. Tom Hiddleston is absolutely amazing as Loki and really catches the essence of this trickster.
5. Vulture- As already mentioned in previous posts I only watched the original Spiderman trilogy a few weeks ago so when I watched Spiderman Homecoming I hadn’t watched any of the other Spiderman movies and I absolutely loved it! Vulture keeps up the tradition of having the Spiderman villains be linked personally to Spiderman in some way which I love and I definitely was not expecting it when he opened the door near the end of the movie.

Top 10 Marvel Post Credit Scenes

1. Iron Man- The post credit scene in the first Iron Man movie and the first movie from the MCU includes Nick Fury talking to Tony Stark about the Avengers Initiative. This is the post credit scene that started it all which is why it had to be included in this list because this is the first time that the Avengers initiative is mentioned as it is the first movie from phase one which builds up to the first Avengers movie.
2. Guardians of the galaxy- Baby Groot dancing, Baby Groot is one of my favourite characters from the MCU so of course a clip of him dancing to the Jackson Five would be one of my favourite scenes! Although this clip doesn’t further the plot I love this scene.
3. Avengers Age of Ultron- In this post credit scene Thanos finds the Infinity Gauntlet and declares that he will ‘do it himself’ which is exactly what he does in Infinity War. This post credit scene is so important to the MCU plot which is why I felt that it had to be included in this list.
4. Thor- This scene includes Eric Selvig talking to Nick Fury and then shows Loki hiding in the background manipulating Selvig. This scene is important in two ways as it starts off the Avengers storyline and also shows us that Loki is actually alive as at the end of Thor we believe him to be dead.
5. Thor Dark World Post Credit Scene 1- This scene shows Lady Sif and one of the warriors three taking the aether to the collector for safe keeping which then becomes very very important when Infinity War comes about as they have to try to find all of the infinity stones again to keep them safe.
6. Captain America Winter Soldier Scene 1- This scene is the first time that we see Wanda/Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver who both become major characters in Age of Ultron and then Wanda in Civil War and Infinity War.
7. Captain America Civil War Scene 1- Bucky going to Wakanda to go back into cryosleep which is the last time we see him before Infinity War except for the post credit scene in Black Panther. This decision at the end of Civil War is very important for Infinity War as it means that Bucky Barnes is in Wakanda for the big fight at the end.
8. Thor Ragnarok Scene 1- Thor and Loki chatting and then a big ship comes in the distance which is the last scene before Infinity War. That ship turns out to the the ship carrying Thanos. Infinity War starts straight after this scene and its because of this that Thanos gets the Space stone meaning he had two infinity stones within the first 10 minutes of the movie.
9. Infinity War- This scene follows Nick Fury and Maria Hill and shows some more of the damage caused by Thanos. It also gives us a sneak peak into a new character who may be appearing in Avengers Endgame- Captain Marvel who has her own movie coming out in March I believe.
10. Ant Man and the Wasp Scene 1- This scene shows Scott going into the Quantum realm to gather healing particles but then Janet, Hope and Hank all disintegrate because of Thanos. After watching the EndGame trailer it seems like Scott is going to be a major part of EndGame which means that this scene is probably going to be very important.

Top 5 MCU videos

1. Marvel Cinematic Universe [Recap Rap]- The Warp Zone:  I absolutely love this video by The Warp Zone because it has comedy, is so clever and is a great recap of the previous movies before Infinity War. They must have spent so much time on this video and it definitely payed off! They also have a few videos recapping individual marvel videos which I would also recommend.
2. Infinity War/Hamilton Parody (Feat. RoyishGoodLooks)- OverEnglishMan: As many of you will know I am a massive Hamilton Nerd so any video that combines Hamilton and Marvel is automatically one of my favourites. This video combines The World Turned Upside Down from Hamilton and puts the Marvel Characters and their situation in Infinity War into the song which is such a clever idea and I absolutely love it and would highly recommend.
3. Avengers: Infinity War Cast Tours Los Angeles with James Corden- The Late Late Show with James Corden: During their press tour for Infinity War the Marvel Cast stopped by the Late Late Show with James Corden and I absolutely love this video as it really shows the personalities of the actors in the MCU which I love.
4. Hawkeye Sings About His Super Powers (Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out loud”)- The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: This video is comedy genius and as an Ed Sheeran and Marvel fan I absolutely loved it. Jeremy has a surprisingly good voice and the lyrics in this song are genius.
5. Marvel Character Map (Pre- Infinity War)- JonasAlmostFamous: I have watched quite a few of Jonas Character maps and I’m always so impressed, she must spend so much time writing down all of the connections, re-watching/re-reading the plots of the movies/TvShows and this one is no exception.

Top 5 Marvel Characters

1. Tony Stark- Iron Man was the first Marvel movie to be released back in 2008 and this movie was the one that set up the entire cinematic universe which has grown over the last 10 years building up to Infinity War and End Game. I love seeing Iron Mans journey throughout his three films and the Avengers films as well.  
2. Groot- I absolutely love Groot as he is so funny! Baby Groot is so cute, teenage Groot is hilarious and adult Groot is so sweet. I love the relationship between Rocket and Groot which goes from friendship with Adult Groot into a father-son relationship with baby and teenage groot. I think Groot is such an underrated character and he seems like a badass.
3. Spiderman- The addition of Spiderman in Civil War was one that I absolutely loved- I haven’t actually seen the Spiderman trilogy with Toby Maguire or The Amazing Spiderman films with Andrew Garfield (please don’t hate me!) but after watching Spiderman Homecoming I have put them on my to watch list!
4. Loki- I think Loki is such an interesting character and is the one who has changed the most throughout the ten year Marvel span. Throughout the series he has kept his mischievous side (he is the God of Mischief after all) but by the end of Thor Ragnarok he has become a key element in Thors team fighting against Hela and Thanos.
5. Scarlet Witch- I love that in the last phase of films Marvel has introduced some pretty badass women including Scarlett Witch, Black Widow, Shuri, Okoye, Valkyrie, Hope, soon Captain Marvel and many more. Scarlet Witch is one of my favourite female additions to the universe and I loved seeing the friendship between Black Widow, Okoye and Scarlet Witch in Infinity War and I hope we get to see more of it in Endgame 🙂
