Berlin 2018

Berlin 2018

On the 23rd of March my Mum and I flew to Berlin, Germany for a weekend getaway because it was one of the few major European cities that neither of us had ever visited!! When we arrived we got the bus from the airport to the hotel, checked in and dumped our bags and spotted a German Market and a big shopping centre with a Sephora quite near to our hotel which looked like they might be fun to explore πŸ™‚

After doing a little bit of shopping we then jumped onto a bus towards the Brandenburg Gate which is a major Berlin landmark and had a wander around that area where there is also the Holocaust Memorial and The Reichstag.

Whilst wandering we came across a Gianni Versace exhibition which we decided to explore because both my Mum and I are into Fashion and it looked really interesting πŸ™‚ They had videos of some of the old catwalks which included people like Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell which was really cool! They also had some of his designs on display πŸ™‚

After the Gianni Versace exhibition we wandered back towards our hotel to grab some dinner- we ended up grabbing a burger- and also went past the Berliner Dom and St Hedwigs cathedral πŸ™‚

The next morning we jumped on a tour bus so that we could enjoy some of the sights and also get information about some of the citys landmarks πŸ™‚ We jumped off the tourbus to take photos at Checkpoint Charlie and Neptunbrunnen.

From Checkpoint Charlie we then walked to Gemuse Kebabs which was a Kebab stand my brother had recommended we check out πŸ™‚ The food was incredible and if I ever go back to Berlin I will be sure to find this Kebab stand again πŸ™‚

After the Kebab we were both very very full so jumped back on the bus heading back to our hotel stopping off at Gendarmenmarkt and Maurreste which is one of the few places you can see the remnants of the Berlin WallΒ  πŸ™‚

We arrived back at our hotel and realised that it was nearly Sunset and that our hotel had a rooftop bar so we raced up there so that we could see the view of the city with the sunset πŸ™‚ It was absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of my trip (apart from the kebab and the cocktails coming up :P)

We then went for a walk to find some dinner and instead found a really cute cocktail bar so decided to have a sit and have a few cocktails before dinner as we were still slightly full from the kebabs from earlier πŸ™‚

After the cocktails we went and found some dinner, headed back to our hotel to put on some facemasks, eat some chocolate and watch some tv πŸ™‚ The next morning we woke up and got back on the tour bus but this time doing the Green Route which took up past the East Side Gallery!!

We then went to the Victory Column which was really cool and even went up to the top which was really cool! After that we went along to the Synagoge which was so beautiful πŸ™‚

The morning of our last day we woke up and went to the Fernsehturm which was really close to our hotel and went up to the top πŸ™‚ The Fernsehturm is the highest tv tower in Germany πŸ™‚

After the Fernsahturm we had some lunch in a restaurant which made amazing ice cream sundaes!! We then found a little courtyard with a fountain which had statues depicting Brothers Grimm fairytales and then flew home πŸ™‚

Christmas cards :)

Christmas cards :)

This is only going to be a short post as I have had university deadlines recently but I have officially broken up from uni for Christmas so the next few posts should be a bit more exciting 🀞🏻 In 1843 Sir Henry Cole designed the very first Christmas card and now every year in the UK we have a tradition of giving out Christmas Cards to our friends and family πŸ™‚ Some people absolutely love Christmas cards and I personally am one of those people and always make sure to write some cards for my friends as they are so quick and easy and I think make a lovely gesture- what’s not to love? I usually try and get my Christmas cards early so that I can pick a really cute design and write them in plenty of time to give them out to friends so this year I asked my mum to get me some Christmas cards from M&S and she definitely did not disappoint πŸ™‚

The design on the cards is adorable and you get four different cards to choose from πŸ™‚ I think my personal favourite is the three penguins but I absolutely love all of them πŸ™‚ Each different design has a different sentence inside and they come in a pack of 20 with 5 of each card πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments if you give out Christmas cards and which of the 4 designs is your favourite πŸ™‚

Fav Christmas lush bath bombsΒ

Fav Christmas lush bath bombsΒ

As my Halloween Lush haul went down quite well and people seemed to enjoy it I thought I would do the same with the Christmas lush collection πŸ™‚

  1. Christmas cracker- This is a new bubble bar this year which looks so cool!! I love the lush bubble bars as they can be used more than once, make loads of bubbles which I love when having a nice pamper evening and are full of ingredients which leave ur skin feeling great and always make the bath look awesome!! I love this twist on the classic christmas cracker tradition πŸ™‚Β
  2. Golden wonder- One of my all time favourite products from lush- the bath bomb makes ur bath go blue and gold and leaves little gold stars in ur bath πŸ™‚ The only problem with this bath bomb is that it does leave ur bath with a slight gold tinge and is very glittery but its so beautiful that its worth it πŸ™‚Β
  3. Christmas sweater- Another new lush product this year I saw this bath bomb in the Oxford Street lush and knew that I had to have it πŸ™‚ It reminds me of the father christmas bath bomb and smells of the classic lemon and cinnamon scent πŸ™‚ It has two reindeers on it and leaves ur bath and gorgeous orangey red ❀
  4. Snow fairy jelly bath bomb- I am loving the new Jelly bath bombs so when I found out that they were making one in the Snow Fairy scent I was very excited because the snow fairy scent is my favourite πŸ™‚ This bath bomb looks so pretty and anything that is pink is automatically on my to buy list πŸ™‚Β
  5. Luxury lush pud- This is a classic Christmas lush product and I’m so happy they brought it back this year πŸ™‚ This was one of the first lush products I bought and is one that I always have to buy every year πŸ™‚ It turns the bath a light pink with different coloured swirls and I absolutely love it πŸ™‚Β
  6. Candy mountain- Whenever I see the Candy Mountain bubble bar I officially know its Christmas πŸ™‚ Its glittery, has pink stripes and smells so lovely πŸ™‚ When I was first looking into Lush products this was one of the first products that people would rave about and is one of lush’s most popular products πŸ™‚Β
  7. Snowman Bubble Bar- This is a classic Lush bubble bar but over the last few years they have improved it so much!! It now looks like a proper snowman which can stand up on its own πŸ™‚ This bubble bar smells so lovely and lemony and leaves ur skin feeling so lovely and soft πŸ™‚Β
  8. Magic wand- This bubble bar is great as it is very easy to use multiple times, smells of snow fairy which as I said is my favourite scent and is pink and glittery!!! It will leave ur bath very glittery but that is a small price to pay for the gorgeous scent and bubbles that you get πŸ™‚Β Β
  9. The Magic of Christmas- This is another reusable bubble bar but is the opposite to the magic wand in that it has a very lovely spicy cinnamon smell πŸ™‚ It will leave ur bath with an orangey tinge and lots and lots of bubbles πŸ™‚ This was a product that came out for the first time last year ❀
  10. Snow angel shower gel- As I have said I absolutely adore the Snow Fairy scent so this is an essential for me at Christmastime πŸ™‚ I usually end up stocking up on this so that I can keep using it for the rest of the year πŸ™‚ This is great at the moment as at my university flat I don’t have a bath so can only use shower products πŸ™‚Β

Let me know in the comments what your favourite Christmastime Lush product is πŸ™‚

Christmas Jumper HaulΒ

Christmas Jumper HaulΒ

As I was gathering all of my Christmas jumpers for this post to take photos I realised that a) I do not need any more christmas jumpers! and B) all of my christmas jumpers are from Primark. I love Primark Christmas jumpers as they are very comfy and are fairly good value for ur money πŸ™‚

  1. This was the second Christmas jumper I ever bought and is the jumper I wore when I met Lucy and Lydia at Beautycon London πŸ™‚ It is soo comfortable and although it is last years design I did manage to find a link: https://www.primark.com/en/product/polar-bear-fairisle-jumper,R35397146196557

2. This jumper was the first Christmas jumper I ever owned- It’s so cute and it lights up!! I bought it from Primark a few years ago and it is still in great condition and I still love it πŸ™‚

Unfortunately I couldn’t find the link for this jumper 😦

3. I first saw this jumper online and knew that I has to have it so when I did a big primark shop and found it I was very happy πŸ™‚ I love jumpers with cute slogans on especially when the slogan incorporates Chrisymas!!

4. Most of you will already know that I am obsessed with unicorns so when I saw this jumper and it had both santa and a unicorn I knew I would have to buy it! Its so comfy and warm so is perfect for either putting over a skirt with tights and heeled boots or with converse and jeans πŸ™‚

Durham 2017

Durham 2017

For the last 2 years my friend Hannah and I have talked about going up to Durham to see our other friend Anna but never got round to it….. until last weekend!! As we are all in our last year of university we figured it was now or never so booked our train tickets and packed up our stuff. On the 11th of November after an early start and a starbucks we boarded the 4 hour train to Durham with smiling faces πŸ™‚

We arrived in Durham midday so Anna met us at the station and we walked to her house where she had made us a lovely lunch of bagels, fruit, biscuits and crisps and I tried my very first crisp sandwich which was actually really good!! After lunch we then decided to explore Durham with Anna as our tour guide. We headed along the river towards the cathedral πŸ™‚

We then arrived at the cathedral and decided to explore because I have never been to Durham before and part of Harry potter was filmed there!!! I actually stood where some of the actors would have stood!! It was so cool to see and although I am not religious I love looking at cathedrals as they are always so grand and beautiful πŸ™‚

After looking around the cathedral we went back to my friends house and got changed ready for the evening πŸ™‚ We then went to a restaurant called Tango and had AMAZING burgers πŸ™‚ I had one called the Tango burger which was a beef burger with crispy onion strings and bacon πŸ™‚

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

After dinner we then went to one of the student bars which was actually in Durham castle which was really cool!! Its not very often that you get to say that you had drinks in a castle! We then moved on to one of the other bars for a little while before going to bed because we were all knackered!

The next morning we woke up slightly late and decided to go to brunch at an independent coffee place called treats- I had the traditional english breakfast which was really nice πŸ™‚

After brunch it was time to walk back to the house, grab our stuff and get our train back to London 😦 Overall it was an absolutely lovely weekend and even though it was a flying visit it was one I will never forget πŸ™‚ Thanks for having us Anna and we will definitely be back! Thank you Hannah as well for accompanying me and for keeping me sane on the 4 hour train rides!

Let me know in the comments if you have ever been to Durham or if you have ever done anything similar and gone to see friends at their universities πŸ™‚

Copenhagen 2017

Copenhagen 2017

On the 10th of October 2017 my flatmate Su knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to go to Copenhagen for the weekend at some point in November- because I have a Monday and a Friday off this term I immediately said yes! Within an hour it was all booked up for the weekend of the 3rd- 6th of November πŸ™‚

On the 3rd we had to wake up super early because we had a flight from Stanstead Airport at 8.45am so we had to leave our flat at 5.30am 😦 We got the tube to Liverpool Street, Stanstead express from Liverpool street to the airport, grabbed a Starbucks because the festive drinks had just come out and boarded the plane πŸ™‚

When we arrived in Copenhagen we bought metro tickets and headed to the AirBNB that we would be staying in for the next few days- the AirBNB was lovely and about as big as our 4 person flat in london!! We spoke to the host about what to do in Copenhagen and they said to make sure we went to a place called Tivoli which we had been led to believe was closed. After unpacking our suitcases we jumped back on the metro and headed to central copenhagen to find Tivoli Amusement Park πŸ™‚

We arrived at Tivoli, bought an unlimited ride pass and wow did we use it! We went on the carousel, the dragon boats, the astronomer, the star flyer, the galley ships, the mine, the monsoon, the bumper cars and the roller coaster. Our absolute favourite was the star flyer, although you were very high and being swung around therefore it was absolutely freezing the view was breathtaking and because the ride was set up so that it felt like you were flying on a broomstick my friend and I sung Defying Gravity at the tops of our voices whilst on the ride πŸ˜›

After all of the rides we grabbed some food and watched a light show on the river where the water would light up different colours and there were fireworks which was really cool πŸ™‚ Tivoli gardens was absolutely amazing and if you ever find yourself in Copenhagen I would highly recommend it although maybe not on the day you fly because by the time we finally crawled into bed at around Midnight we were absolutely shattered!!

The next day we had a lie in because we were both knackered from the day before but when we finally woke up we grabbed some breakfast and jumped on the metro towards NyHaven which was the most beautiful waterfront and street I had ever seen!! The houses were all gorgeous colours and Hans Christian Anderson lived in one of the houses which was really cool πŸ™‚

After looking around Nyhaven we decided it was time for a very late lunch so we went to this lovely restaurant called Geist which I would highly reccomend if you are ever in Copenhagen and has the most AMAZING candyfloss which looked like a cloud!

After lunch we walked for around half an hour stopping to shop and have a look around and finally came across the famous Little Mermaid from the Hans Christian anderson fairytale. It was a lot smaller than you would think but was still really cool to see πŸ™‚

After the Little Mermaid statue we headed back to our AirBnB and ended up cooking dinner there and then watched a sing along version of Pitch Perfect :p

On our last full day in Copenhagen we got up, had breakfast and then headed off to an area of Copenhagen called Norreport which has cool shopping, museums and a castle!! Our first stop was the Rosenborg castle which was absolutely beautiful πŸ™‚ We then did some shopping and walked along to the National Museums which includes a zooological and geological museum and the botanical gardens πŸ™‚

After the museums we then went to a food market which was really cool and had a delicious Duck sandwich for dinner and then it was time to head back to the AirBnb.

Our final day was spent packing in the morning and then we headed to another Copenhagen castle called the Christiansborg Palace after which it was time to head to the airport for our flight home 😦

Overall I absolutely loved my time in Copenhagen and I had such a blast πŸ™‚ I’m so happy I said yes when my flatmate knocked on my door a month ago and it’s an experience I will never forget πŸ™‚

Let me know in the comments if you have ever been to Copenhagen or if this post has inspired you to go πŸ™‚

Places to go in Brighton

Places to go in Brighton

I absolutely love Brighton and often call Brighton beach my home away from home so its no surprise that I have made at least one trip a year for the past 3 years to this lovely seaside town and whilst on these trips I have found a few places that you should definitely visit if you are planning on going to Brighton πŸ™‚

  1. Choccywoccydoodah- As a self-confessed chocoholic when I heard about Choccywoccydoodah I was so excited but also nervous that it wouldn’t live up to the hype……. I could not have been more wrong! It exceeded my expectations and now no trip to Brighton is complete without Choccywoccydoodah πŸ™‚ I have tried chocolate covered marshmallows, a chocolate sundae and a chocolate dipping pot so far and they were all amazing- I’m slowly working my way through the menu πŸ˜› The decor is beautiful and the cakes that they make are extraordinary!
  2. Photomatic- I absolutely love photography and polariods and selfies so when I saw this shop in one of Zoella’s vlogs I knew that I had to find it next time I went to Brighton- it was so much fun!! I dragged my friends Hannah and Anna in with me because no photobooth photoshoot is complete without ur besties and it was a blast πŸ™‚ They have loads of different props including hats, glasses + signs- my favourite was an alien hat πŸ˜›
  3. Beach- Brighton is very well known for its beach and every year hundreds of people flood to this seaside town to sunbathe, eat fish and chips and maybe paddle in the sea if they’re feeling brave during the few days of sun we get  here in the UK. Everytime I go to Brighton I am struck by the beauty of this beach and immediately feel relaxed whenever I step onto the pebbles to walk towards the sea πŸ™‚ Although the beach is generally quite busy during the summer months you can always find a little spot to put ur stuff down, take some photos and run down to the sea (usually running back up the beach 2 minutes later because the water is freezing :P)
  4. The Pier- Brighton pier is a great place to walk along, grab an ice cream, lose all ur change playing arcade games and then if ur brave go on one of the rides at the end which I have actually yet to try. You also get a great instagram-worthy view of the beach. There are hilarious photo cut outs including Minions, a wedding and many more πŸ™‚ There are also souvenir shops which are great if like me you like to collect things from all the places you visit πŸ™‚
  5. The Bandstand, The Donut + The Carousel- As someone who loves photography and finding really cool artistic places for photoshoots the Brighton Bandstand and the Carousel which can both be found along the Beach are a dream πŸ™‚ The bandstand is gorgeous, especially at night, and is the perfect scenery shot and the carousel always reminds me of Mary Poppins.  The Donut is also found along Brighton beach and is the perfect for an impromptu photoshoot with friends where you can all be silly πŸ™‚

I hope this post has given you a few ideas for the next time you decide to visit Brighton or maybe it has inspired you to visit Brighton for the first time! Let me know in the comments if there are any places you think I have missed out or if you have been to any of these places πŸ™‚
