10 Places in London that will give your friends #foodenvy

My Best Friend Hannah wrote a blog post detailing some Instagrammable dessert places that she had found around London which she wanted to try whilst in her final year at university in central London which can be found here: https://justhannahhere.wordpress.com/2017/08/07/10-food-places-in-london/. As I am also in my final year of university in London I asked if she wanted someone to accompany her and we set off on a tour of London Dessert places 🙂

1. Yorica                             FreeFrom Ice Cream                    Near Oxford Street

This was the first place we tried as we decided to visit whilst shopping in summer along Oxford Street 🙂 I absolutely loved this dessert place and we have actually been back a few times 🙂 It has dairy free ice cream which I was sceptical about at first as I had never tried it before but I loved it and I think because of the lack of dairy the flavours of the ice cream were stronger 🙂 I went for Chocolate and Mango ice cream and then they have a topping station and a sprinkle station which I thought was really cool 🙂

2. Milk Train Cafe           Ice Cream with Candyfloss             Covent Garden

This was the second place we tried and I have to say although the photos came out amazingly I don’t know how practical the desserts are as they’re quite hard to eat. If you eat the ice cream first you’re left with sticky candyfloss but if you eat the candyfloss first the ice cream melts 🙂 I do think it was worth it for the insta but I don’t think I will be visiting here on a regular basis ❤

3. My Old Dutch                                    Pancakes                                        Holborn

My flatmates actually introduced me to MyOldDutch pancakes as it is relatively close to my flat in London 🙂 You can either get a large crepe with savoury or sweet toppings or american pancakes with the classic toppings 🙂 I absolutely loved these pancakes as they are very generous with the toppings although I couldn’t finish one to myself! I have been back here already and will definitely be back in the future as they do student discount and have a thing called Monday Madness where their classic pancakes are only £5 🙂

4. Naked Dough               Cookie Dough                       Old Street

Hannah and I actually came across Naked Dough by accident whilst going for dinner nearby, I noticed the inflatable unicorn inside and then realised they sold Cookie Dough like Ice Cream! Unlike the cookie dough I used to sneak as a child (and still now) this cookie dough is completely safe to eat and they have lots of flavours including Unicorn food, classic, chocolate, oreo and many more 🙂 I have been back here twice more and I will definitely be back 🙂

5. Lolas Cupcakes                         Cupcakes                                      Victoria

I actually LOVE Lola’s cupcakes and tried them for the first time in 2016 at Halloweentime as they do amazing themed cupcakes including Halloween cupcakes, Christmas cupcakes and a Unicorn cupcake 🙂  🙂 There are quite a few around especially in train stations including Victoria and Kings Cross and I love the ratio of cake to icing 🙂

6. Hatchwaffles                        Bubble Waffles                         Leicester Square

I had never heard of bubble waffles until Hannah introduced me to them 🙂 We decided to go here after going to ModPizza which is also in Leicester Square 🙂 This was a great idea in theory but after the pizza we were both really full so could only finish half of the waffles ❤ That being said I absolutely loved the waffles! I got one with strawberries, banana and chocolate ice cream and sauce which was so tasty and surprisingly inexpensive 🙂 I will definitely be going back here but maybe not straight after a meal ❤

7. Sweetheart cakes                      Cupcakes                                Covent Garden

My Mum and I were up in London shopping around the Covent Garden area as we had been on a tour of the Royal Opera House so after a lunch at ShakeShack we wanted something sweet so when I saw this cupcake shop which was featured in Hannah’s post I suggested we go in 🙂 We weren’t too hungry so decided to split a cupcake which worked out well as the cupcake was really delicious but very sickly 🙂 I will definitely be going back here if I’m in the covent garden area but I would recommend sharing a cupcake if you’re not a big fan of sweet things 🙂

8. Tsujiri Matcha House              GreenTeaIceCream                         Soho

Last year my friend Dorothy told me about a place which sold GreenTeaIceCream which I was very intrigued about 🙂 I’m not a massive fan of green tea but wanted to try the MatchaGreenTea Ice Cream because I had heard it was a lot nicer which I agreed about 🙂 I really enjoyed the green tea ice cream but I’m not sure I would rush back ❤

9. Krispy Kreme donuts                      Donuts                                        Holborn

Krispy Kreme donuts have been in my life for while as there used to be a shop in Harrods where my family would get one of the classic glaze donuts if they had just come out of the oven to eat whilst shopping 🙂 I have since expanded and tried a few more of their donuts and I have found that I absolutely love the Chocolate Dreamcake and Chocolate sprinkled donut 🙂

10. Where The Pancakes Are                Pancakes                     London Bridge

For Hannah’s 21st birthday we decided to go out for brunch and picked Where The Pancakes Are because they have both sweet and savoury pancakes which worked out well 🙂 I went for the American which included bacon, maple syrup and blueberries and it was delicious! I couldn’t finish them so I would recommend sharing with someone if you do decide to go ❤

Let me know in the comments if you have been to any of these places or if you have any suggestions for places to go 🙂

  1. When I lived in Camden, I used to love to go to My Old Dutch in Holborn. I used to have a savoury, followed by a sweet. Just plain greedy for pancakes!
Thanks for following my blog, which is much appreciated.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Good morning Grace.

First off thanks for liking and following my blog. I love cookie dough ice creme! I’ve never been to the UK nor pretty much anywhere else beside my home state of Florida, but hopefully someday I get to check these delicious locations out. Cheers x
