20th Birthday Day Out πŸ’•Β

20th Birthday Day Out πŸ’•Β

My best friend Hannah organised a birthday day out on the 22nd of July for my other bestie Anna and I πŸ™‚ The day started with an Afternoon Tea at a tea terrace in London- the food was so delicious and the decor was gorgeous!! I felt like a Disney princess πŸ™‚

With some very full stomachs we did some shopping and then headed to Covent Garden to take some Instagram photos with Covent Garden in Bloom which was stunning and such a good photo opportunity πŸ™‚

After taking many many photos we did some more shopping and then went to get some food and have a few drinks πŸ™‚

Overall I had an absolutely AMAZING day seeing parts of London I’d never seen before and having a very cute instagrammable day πŸ™‚ Thank you so much Hannah for organising everything!! ❀

Let me know in the comments if you have done any of the things we did in London πŸ™‚

Mexico 2017

Mexico 2017

On the 27th of June my family and I flew to Mexico for the third time πŸ™‚ We have been to Mexico for the past 2 summers and have loved it so much that we decided to return for a third year running- this time it was my mum, my dad, my middle brother, his girlfriend and I. The flight is around 9 hours and on the way to Cancun we had a very dramatic flight! One female passenger was beating up her boyfriend so they had to be separated and then someone else was smoking in the toilets!!! I think I speak for everyone on the plane when I say that we were very relived when we landed safely in Cancun. After our flight landed we grabbed our bags, went to the hotel, unpacked and grabbed a nice dinner at a Japanese restaurant- we were transported to the dinner in a golf buggy which was a really surreal experience!

The next three days were spent by the pool reading, eating and just generally being really lazy which was absolute bliss πŸ™‚ We packed some pool floaties including a unicorn, a pizza and a donut which had been given to us on Birthdays and Christmas the past year so ofc we had to try them out and if I do say so myself they were pretty epic!Β

Last summer whilst in Mexico my dad really wanted to go swimming with Whale Sharks but because no-one else wanted to go with him he decided not to go, this year he was determined to go and dragged us all along. Whale sharks can be up to 12.65m so even though they only eat plankton I was absolutely terrified!! We were allowed to jump into the water twice and had to try and keep up with the whale shark but they are so fast that that was nearly impossible- on my second jump the whale shark was swimming right underneath my mum and I and was so close that we could have touched it which was such an AMAZING experience and although I was terrified I am so glad that I overcame my fear so thanks Mum and Dad for dragging me along! :p

We had one more day of relaxing by the pool at our first hotel on the Sunday which was mainly spent in the cabana because we had all gotten sunburnt the day before because we were not allowed to wear suncream whilst swimming with the whale sharks.

On our final day at the Paradisus hotel we actually went on an excursion to Chichen Itza which is one of the new seven wonders of the world- we went to Chichen Itza two years ago but because my brothers girlfriend hadn’t been and really wanted to we thought that we would all go πŸ™‚

After going round the ruins and soaking in the atmosphere we all boarded back onto a minibus and headed to a cenote for lunch and to have a swim because around the Chichen Itza area it is so hot that it was so nice to get in the cold water and cool off πŸ™‚ After the cenote we headed to the Paradisus to collect our bags, grabbed a taxi and went to our second hotel which was the secrets in Akumal.

Our first full day at the Secrets hotel was also my 20th Birthday!! I woke up to lots of lovely birthday messages from my friends and then we went down to breakfast for birthday mimosas and to decide what we wanted to do for the day. We decided that we would spend the day by the beach sunbathing and swimming in the sea as at this particular beach you were able to snorkel with the turtles!!!

After spending the day snorkelling with turtles we headed to Himitsu because we had booked a teppanyaki table for that evening πŸ™‚ The food was incredible and it was an experience I will never forget πŸ™‚ I went to bed that evening with a massive smile on my face πŸ™‚

The 5th of July was spent alternating between the pool and the beach as was the 7th although at this hotel we decided not to bring our floaties to the pool as the pool we tended to be in was meant to be a quiet pool πŸ™‚

In between our pool/beach days we decided to head to some other mayan ruins called Talum- we saw these ruins last year but didn’t get a lot of time to spend looking round as we were on a tour and because it was so close to our hotel we decided to get a taxi to the ruins and explore for ourselves πŸ™‚ We wandered around reading all about the ancient mayan culture and then went to the beach to cool down πŸ™‚

The 8th of July was our last day which we were all very sad about because none of us wanted to leave 😦 The flight home was a lot less dramatic and by the morning of the 9th of July we were back in England- slightly more tanned than when we left but exhausted because we had a night flight on the way back and I unfortunately cannot sleep on planes.

Travel Tag

Travel Tag

My Bestie Hannah recently wrote a blog post about her travels called The Travel Tag and nominated me to do the same- Thanks Babes ❀

What is your favourite place that you have visited?

This is so hard to answer because I have been to so many AMAZING places but my favourite I would have to say is New York- I went there in February with my Mum and it was SO MUCH FUN! I love the shopping, the sights and most importantly the food πŸ˜› I definitely want to go back there in the near future πŸ™‚

If you could visit anywhere tomorrow, where would it be and why?Β

I have always wanted to go on a Safari- as a BioVeterinary student I love learning about wild animals so going to see them in their natural habitat would be incredible πŸ™‚ This is actually one of the things on my bucket list to go on a Safari and also to see a Cheetah in the wild because they are my favourite big cat ❀

Would you rather go on a beach holiday or a city holiday?Β

As much as I love sitting on the beach reading a book in the sun I don’t think anything can beat a city holiday. I love walking around seeing all the amazing buildings and architecture, trying all the delicious food and immersing myself in a different culture.

What are your top 3 travel essentials?Β

  1. Camera
  2. Guidebook
  3. Sunglasses/Hat dependent on the weather

Are you an overpacker or an underpacker?Β

I am definitely an underpacker- when I went to New York my suitcase was only half full with stuff…… on the way back it was definitely not half full though because of all the shopping πŸ˜›

What is your favourite thing about going on holiday?

My favourite thing about going on holiday is immersing myself in the culture and the feeling of freedom that comes from being in a foreign city πŸ™‚

Whats the most adventurous dish you have ever tried in a foreign country?

As most of my friends and family will tell you I am definitely not a fussy eater- I will basically eat anything, that being said the most adventurous things I have ever tried in a foreign country would have to be either Frogs Legs or snails.

Who do you tag?Β

I tag all of my readers πŸ™‚

Let Β me know in the comments where you would want to travel to next πŸ™‚

2nd Year of Uni <3

2nd Year of Uni <3

Currently I am sitting in Mexico in a cabana awaiting my 2nd year university results and it got me reflecting on the past year so I thought I would share my thoughts with you guys πŸ™‚ This year has been full of hard times just like any year but has also had many amazing memories which I will look back on for a long time to come ❀ From concerts to sightseeing, theatre to club nights and crying to laughter this year has had it all πŸ™‚ I decided to live at home this year which presented its own set of challenges because of train strikes but also an internal struggle of trying to keep motivated to go to lectures that were 2 hours away whilst snuggled up in bed at 7am. It also put a strain on the fantastic friendships I built last year with my flatmates although I am happy to say that I have managed to keep in contact with most of them πŸ™‚ I’m actually moving back into London next year with some of my old flatmates which I am immensely excited about although I will miss my dogs and family 😦 This year has been a year of change and one of the biggest changes is that I dyed my hair from blonde to a red-brown which was definitely a shock to the system, although I do love my red-brown hair I have decided to go back to blonde once I come back from Mexico as I have decided that blondes really do have more fun πŸ˜› I also got 3 new piercings this year which was something that I was very apprehensive about but I absolutely love them! My helix piercing is still healing because I only got it done about 2 months ago. This year I reached 100 and then 150 followers on this blog which I am immensely proud of and I am so thankful to everyone who follows me on here!!! I am turning 20 tomorrow and I feel like my 20s are going to come with a lot of challenges because I am hopefully graduating next year but I am excited to see what the next year and my 20s bring and I can’t wait to bring you guys along for the ride πŸ™‚ xx

Let me know in the comments what you have been up to this year ❀
